They seem to work well as a "tester" not an actual drummer. They are as a starting set for our 16 year old who has started playing cymbals in the percussion section of her high school. We love the idea of the capability to use head phones so she can practice without everyone being involved. We were also able to plug the USB into a portable charger, like for a cell phone, and she should be able to use them without a plug. She does not have her own computer at this time so we wanted to be sure that she could move around with them. I will update the review once she actually opens them at Christmas. We think she will be thrilled!!

So I thought this should have the ability to use batteries as other similar units I have seen do... However, it only can be powered by ac outlet and has a short plug so makes things difficult for my situation. Other than that, it seems to work well and is surprisingly loud for such a small unit. But the short cord makes it very limited to where it can be used for kids.

I bought this product for my grandson who wanted a drum set. He was thrilled when he opened the box and immediately set it up and began playing. The volume is easily controllable and the headphone jack was a super idea. The only thing I can think of that I do not like is the loud, obnoxious beeping when the volume is turned up or down. This is a great alternative to the full sized drum set.

If you are curious if this kit works as a Midi controller with Apple's GarageBand it does which was my primary need for this purchase. The other item that I could not get a clear answer was when connecting the drums to my MacBook does power over come from USB or will I still need batteries and it is USB powered. When researching this and other products similar I could not confirm either of this two features, so if you are looking to use this in a similar manner I hope this helps. I would recommend this product and am happy with my purchase.

Bought this on a whim even though it is a toy. It stated USB "MIDI" support. Hooked it up to my system, turned the volume down (didn't want to hear the "meh" sounding drums) selected my drum set in the DAW and BOOM! Can record drum tracks using this as the trigger/controller with the DAW's drum sounds! Sweet!

Our son appreciates having this in addition to his traditional set. He is 8 and needed something more mobile to use all over the house. Sound isn’t terrible and this works great for practice

Definitely great and worth buying if your kid wants to play the drums and you aren’t sure their commitment level in lessons and you don’t wanna drop $400 for a set to collect dust. PLUS it has a headphone jack so they can go to town and you won’t want to bash your head into a wall

This is perfect for fun little jamming or practice. I also added a stereo to mono adapter on the foot pedals and now have double kicks!!! 🤟

es muy bueno para practicar, pero te deja con un mal sabor de boca en cuestion a los pedales, son demasiado incómodos, el material del que esta echo es malo, y la sensibilidad es pésima, al querer pedalear en una canción de ritmo avanzado suena doble, esperaba algo mas complejo por el precio.

Great starter drum set. Only problem noticed is that if you turn the volume up the small speakers distort. I hooked it up to my full console stereo with the output jack and wow! Now it works great.
