Great product with Gold Standard Customer Support
Lunderg Alert ChairI bought the Lunderg bed/chair alarm system to help me care for my wife who is going through the last stage Alzheimer’s. I love the safety it provides for my wife and the peace-of-mind it gives me. In addition, as you’ll read below I’m very much impressed with the not only the company itself but also its outstanding customer service and support. As my review of this product, I’m posting the email I recently sent to Lunderg relating to both the product and their customer service support. To whom it may concernI am very much impressed with both your products and most recently, my experience with your truly outstanding customer support!I first purchased your bed/chair alarm system in early May and have been using it for my wife who’s going through late Alzheimer’s. I just want to say what a fantastic device you have! No kidding. In the relatively short time I’ve had it, It’s notified me of her attempts to exit both the bed and chair more times than I can count. That in itself fully justifies my primary purpose for purchasing it. More than that though, it enables me to take my eyes off of her for short periods. I find I’m actually starting to accomplish small household tasks without the constant worry about my wife falling from the bed or chair. That might not sound important to some, but when you’re caring 24 x 7 for a loved one who can no longer effectively communicate and isn’t physically strong enough to stand, sit or walk without help (but doesn’t realize it), it’s critical. But enough of that, here’s the reason I’m writing. The chair pad stopped working and nothing I tried would fix it. I looked at a couple videos but under the circumstances didn’t have much down time to research the problem in depth myself. I sent an email to Lunderg explaining what happened and asking for help to repair the device or for a replacement. This was yesterday, a Saturday. Today - Sunday (< 24hrs later), I received a response email from Agna Pauraite, the Lunderg “Customer Happiness Officer!” Agna sent along clear instructions on what may have happened with the chair pad. I followed her simple instructions and the problem resolved immediately. My quality of life was immediately restored. (Did I mention she responded to my issue on a Sunday.)I’m 71 years old and can recall maybe 2-3 times in my lifetime I’ve seen customer service coming even close to this level of perfection. I’m so impressed with the product and Agna’s personalized customer service that I’ve just ordered an additional bed/chair combo for use at another location. Thanks again and keep up the great work!Kevin Fabre“Happily” Satisfied CustomerSent from my iPhone

One of my best Amazon purchases ever!
I will end with likes/dislikes but overall, I desperately needed this particular bed alarm. Given that, I hope my dislikes are considered for new production modificationsThis bed alarm allows me to get a lot more sleep! Before this, I had set hourly alarms to check a camera to see if my dad was in bed or wandering. I sometimes slept through them or he got up right after I checked. I have since deleted those alarms. I did NOT want an alarm that sounded at the bed that would scare my dad. I needed a portable alarm to travel with me. I also needed something with sound that would break through my phone's nighttime sleep mode (for those with app alarms), and an alarm I could hear through my noise blocking headphones (that help me sleep through snoring.) I didn't want one that my husband would hear and wake up. I couldn't have a device the detects the person stepping on the floor because I couldn't have the cat setting it off.Likes: I love that it has the "pager" that sounds away from the bed. I like that there is an option of sound only, sound w/vibrate, and vibrate only. I like the clip. I have it on vibrate only and clip the device to my jammie's waist band. It works great and I get to my dad before he leaves his bedroom. I was needlessly worried about the clips because the pad/clips stay in place really well. I do not get false alarms.Dislikes: I hate the tiny, relatively flat on/off switch. It is rather hard to operate especially when I just woke up from a deep sleep. I apparently missed that it is suggested to be replaced after 15 months of use. (However, ≈$8 a month is actually worth it.) I wish the alarm tone had volume controls vs. high/low option (both of which are loud.) I wish I could set it without have to cycle through the three options EVERY single time. I'd like to avoid the loud alarm tone for me and for my sleeping husband's sake. (I turn it off and then the pager has the be reset after every "back to bed" incident. I wish the light was just a single light to show it is set. The continuous STROBE light is super annoying and not conducive for sleeping. Having it on my waist band, under the covers fixed that. The added benefit is that I don't loose the device and easily feel the alarm. The clip is rather hard to use because it does not open much and I am afraid I could break it. The pad crinkling sound is annoyingly loud when he gets in bed. Fortunately, he sleeps without much movement. (Note that I fully understand the need to keep it waterproof!)

Game changer for safety!
My senior citizen mother-in-law recently had a stroke and also broke her hip when she fell. We brought her home to care for her after hip surgery and rehab, and we purchased the combo bed and chair alarms with the early warning system to protect her from falls. They are worth their weight in gold! They were easy to set up and activate using the link to the "how to" videos included in the instruction booklet. We have only had her home a few days, and due to some damage to her critical thinking from the stroke, she forgets that if she were to stand, she would immediately fall. Several times already, the alarm has promptly sounded as she has attempted to get up, and we were able to quickly get to her before she got out of her bed or her chair and get her safely to the bathroom. We both sleep much more soundly knowing that her bed alarm will go off in the night before she gets out of bed. We keep the receiver clipped on one of our hips during the day (the attached clip makes it easy), and on our bedside table at night. I tested it out upon receipt, and the pads were comfortable to lie/sit on under the bed sheet and positioning sheet on her bed, and under a small blanket on her chair, without undue crinkling or plastic noise. The bed monitor has stayed nicely in place on her bed with the use of the clips that are provided with the order. I can't recommend these products enough both for top quality functionality and peace of mind.Update 02/2024:Still working well, but be aware that very occasionally, the alarm pads will "unsync" from the receiver (has happened twice), and will need to be resynced for the alarm to work. Be sure to test that the pads are working by quickly pushing to apply pressure on the chair or bed where you have the alarm pads placed before seating your loved one. Resyncing is simple, but it's important to make sure it's working.

Works very well
I bought this to help with my stealthy little mom who could sneak out of bed (and potentially fall) before anyone knew what was happening. It’s proved to be well worth the expense and it alerted her caregiver immediately to a potential problem.

Works as advertised
I bought the bed alert system for my elderly father so I could stop listening for his stirrings at night and get better rest.PROs: The sensitivity of the pad is just right and only alerts me when Dad is trying to get up. It does not activate when he rolls over or changes his sleeping position, so I don't get false alarms.CONs: The remote is straight out of the 1970s. Its bulky, lacks the functionality of modern devices, and is not well designed.I use the alarm at night and like to use the vibration setting so it doesn't disturb others in the household when it alerts. The remote is large enough that it does not fit well in a pocket and the belt clip does not hold it in place while I'm sleeping. The reset button on the remote is the same size and shape as the button that sets the volume, so there is no way to tell which button is the reset without looking at the remote. Because I use the remote while sleeping and the room is dark, I often hit the volume button instead of the reset, which wakens everyone else. The reset button only stops the alert for a brief period. When I'm assisting my father he will sit and stand several times and the alarm alerts each time pressure on the pad is released. This is really annoying and pulls my attention away from him. The only way to stop the steady stream of alerts is to turn the remote off. When the remote is turned off it loses it's settings. When it is turned back on it immediately alarms at it's loudest volume and I have to push the volume button several times to restore the vibration setting. Each time I push the volume button the alarm goes off. So I have to go to a remote part of the house to reset the volume after helping my Dad.If the remote was redesigned to be less bulky with buttons that can be easily distinguished by touch, and programmed to maintain it's settings when turned off, I would give the alert system 5 stars.

Smart purchase works well
Suggested by one of my dad’s caregivers, and it’s been one of the best recommendations we’ve received. It’s loud, which is exactly what you want in an alarm. There are multiple settings, including a vibration option, and it’s easy to use. Overall, a great value and a smart purchase.

Alarm works even if person just sits up.
This works as advertised. I use it for my wife who has a tendency to wake up at night disoriented and tries to get up. The alarm sounds even if the pager is in the next room. It awakens me so I can assist her. Well worth it I’d say.

Saved father in law from falling numerous times.
This alarm has helped us tremendously. If we didn’t have that my father in law would have fallen so many times. I have it set to one side since his bed is against the wall we only have to worry about him getting out on one side. OMG! He has dementia & keeps trying to get up. The problem is he is 94 years old withdementia, but more agile than I am until he actually stands on his legs. His legs are weak & give out when he stands on them. The thing is he can hold them up together in the air as long as he wants while you get him dressed. I can’t do leg lifts like that. So getting up isn’t his problem, but once he’s up those same legs can’t hold him up. The alarm goes off, we immediately look at the camera & there he is getting up. It gives us enough time to dash downstairs to stop him. I don’t know what we’d do without it. I bought it in anticipation of him moving in with us because he was getting out of bed both in the hospital & at rehab. Great product, easy to install, works just as advertised. It has more than one setting. I have it so he can turn & reposition himself without setting off the alarm, but the moment he sits up & tries to get out of bed it goes off. Oh & its loud, you don’t have to worry that you will sleep through it. Not only is it loud it vibrates on my nightstand.Update: We love this device so much we bought the matching chair alarm. You pair it to the same alarm box. We have noted that occasionally (twice since mid February) it will become unpaired. It’s easy to pair it back to the device in 5-10 seconds. You just have to be careful because if you don’t notice & it becomes unpaired it’s useless, it won’t alarm & alert you. I’m convinced my father in law would have fallen & hurt himself by now if it weren’t for the alarm. We have a baby monitor with a couple of cameras watching him so if the alarm goes off we can see what he’s doing & actually talk to him to see why is he trying to get up. This has allowed us to safely sleep at night.
