I do believe they are.. I had the $200 one from their website and I used it for several years. Then I ordered this one and it's just the same.. I absolutely love it!! I highly recommend this!!

Is this a knock off of the $300 I found online somewhere else? Or the exact one?

I returned this item because it was not what I thought I was ordering. My mother in law has one by this manufacturer that she bought at a women's expo for $200 but they said it was discounted from $300. I loved that one and thought this one was that one. It was not! I did find the exact one that I wanted on Amazon it's $78 instead of $50. It's brilliance New York diamond flat iron PRO. I just got it and I love it as much as I love the one I first tried. The pro has much smoother plates and is rounded to be more versatile if you want to curl your hair with it. The barrel is smoother so your hair glides over it and it has digital heat control and automatic shutoff and heats up in about a minute. None of this is true about the one you're asking about. It's definitely worth the extra $28 or so to get the pro.

What is the max heat on this iron?

The max heat is 450 degrees.  This is the best flat iron I have ever used and as a result bought one for each female in my family and refer it to friends looking for a flat iron.  We are of Indian heritage, thick long curly hair and this iron flattens to pure perfection (in my option) leaving our hair silky and with a brilliant shine.  I travel with it and I have a back up on standby still boxed incase they cease production of it or it goes off market.  If hair is thin be very careful and test each heat setting to find your correct temperature for the look you are after.  As mentioned this gets really hot and may burn or damage thin hair on the wrong heat setting.  It DOES NOT have an automatic turn off switch so I always plug it out to make sure it if off.  In the beginning I mistakenly left it on and plugged in and knew it was on because when I got near it I could feel the heat radiating from it.  Always plug it out to be safe.  I LOVE MINES, I hope this helps.

Is this one original? because i have seen the brilliance new york iron in its original webpage and most of them are around $300

they tried to sell me this at a mall around Christmas time and they said normally 300.00 but they were running a sale for 180.00! still HELL NO so I wrote the name down came home got on amazon typed in the name and the pic is exactly what they had in the mall, any way's got it, (I think 130-140.00) don't remember it was a few year's ago) well it's PERFECT! I LOVE IT! and I'm soo glad I was smart enough to avoid buying it at the mall and got it cheaper on Amazon plus Free shipping!!!!!
