We primarily operate in timber country, taking off and landing in clearings full of wood chips and branches (and logs). The pad provides a perfect solid surface in this environment, as well as a great target. I forgot it once and tried landing on the ground, and on a loading pad I had with me. Both were horrible, I will never forget the pad again. We are glad to have the two colors, there are spots where each are the best choice for visibility.

Better than I expected
At first, I didn't think a landing pad would be useful. I'd been using my free Government pad, and it worked fine (-Free priority mail shipping box that the Post Office gives you for free). However the P.O. box was smaller, and eventually the flaps warped and got in the way, so I bit the bullet and purchased this Kinbron gizmo. It works great and prevents dust and debris from entering the drone (-The cooling fans will work like a vacuum and suck up everything). It also protects the props from weed-eating (-An expensive chore when you use drone blades). Practice the folding procedure. Once you get it right you'll be able to store the pad quickly and compactly. The quality was better than I expected. It's NOT one of those car windshield folding sun visors. This thing is of a stouter quality.

If you want a landing pad, this is a fine choice...
I'm a commercial drone pilot with 100s of hours of flight time on multiple continents. My main rigs are Inspire 2s, and when I recently got a Mavic Air 2 to use in settings where the I2s are impractical or overkill, I worried that its low ground clearance would be a problem for take offs and landings. So I got this landing pad. It works fine on terrain that's already relatively flat, to prvent the short drone legs from sinking into grass and such. But these locations are relatively rare, and usually have paved surfaces nearby. For more challenging locations, such as those that are significantly uneven, tilted, or wet locations, the pad is not very helpful. So I have learned to hand launch and land the device when in rough terrain. That's easy to do (except in high wind), and much more flexible. So I find that I don't bother to bring this pad with me anymore.

If you own a small drone, you need one of these.
I just purchased a DJI Mavic Mini last week and, after seeing some pilots in YouTube videos using a landing pad like this, I decided to buy one. I am very glad that I did, because I can now take off/land on the lawn, or on gravel, dirt, or sand without worrying about damage to the fragile props or getting debris in the motors or camera gimble. It's also very easy to see from the sky, whether in full daylight or at dusk.I haven't had a need to use the stakes, so I cannot comment on their durability. If its windy enough to need the stakes for the landing pad, it's too windy to fly the Mavic Mini. The little drone stumbles and dances in little 10mph gusts. The landing pad is easy to fold and put back in the bag, the zipper on which seems sturdy enough. Both are also easy to clean, should they get dirty. Just wipe them off with a damp rag or paper towel and you're done.Overall, a good value. If you've been on the fence about buying a landing pad, or if you've just bought an expensive drone, go a step further and buy a landing pad as well, it provides a little bit of a safer place to land or take off from, and is totally worth it.

Boing!
After watching several drone videos where pilots had blue/orange landing pads that didn't seem much larger than the aircraft itself and the drones usually missed them by a foot or two, I wasn't expecting anything so large (yes, if I had read the description instead of just looking at the pictures and assuming the size I would have know.. sooo...). This arrived while I was out flying my new drone for the first time so I didn't have the opportunity to try it out. But while using a white board about 1.5 ft square I could only get the drone to land near the target. If I had had this large landing pad with me I think the drone would have come down somewhere inside the circumference each time.It comes in a zippered pouch about 12" in diameter. Be careful when you pull it out, it's made of coiled spring steel and BOING!!! it pops right open!

Works for DJI Mavic Air
There's plenty to like about this landing pad and I have very few complaints. I use it with my DJI Mavic Air and is great. Before I used nothing, but want to prevent dirty and anything else from effecting my drone when it takes off or lands. I would say it is a must have for those who have not bought a bundle package and not horribly expensive. It takes a little practice, but folding gets easier. Once folded you just put it in the carrying bag, piece of cake.I rarely use the stakes to keep the pad down, but you may need to do something on windier days to prevent the pad from blowing away. When the drone is in the air the pad is easy to spot. Highly recommended.

Protect your Drone.
Great little accessory for a drone. It' appears to be well made, is attractive, and works well for my Mavic pro. The Mavic is very low to the ground and needs some protection from the dirt, rocks and grass. This landing pad fills the needs. It comes with a carry bag and stakes, It cleverly folds up, but could use an instruction sheet. I would highly recommend getting one.

Keeping your drone clean
This landing pad is easy to transport & so useful for the Mavic air because the camera sits so low on the drone the landing legs are so short. It doesn't take very tall grass to get chopped up by the props & wedged up into the camera. The pad also keeps out sand & dirt out of your camera when landing or launching.
