It's a bit awkward if you have to shorten it quite a bit. It pulls back out of the belt loops when you undo it, so you have to wrangle it back through and hook it back up.

These are just the right belt to have. For the most part (to me, that is), belts aren't exactly the fashion accessory 'must have' as they used to be when shirts were worn tucked in or belts were worn around the waist with a dress. Nope. . .with shirts being worn out, it doesn't matter what belt I'm wearing and with these, they're flat and without a buckle to bulge/bump through the clingy tops, blouses, or shirts I wear. If you're looking for something for simply holding up your pants without the need for a fancy/stylish buckle, these belts are it. AND. . .they also come in a set of 6 different colors.
