i was wrong, this show if great. and worth every dime as well
i did a review a while ago on this show and made the mistake of comparing it to hells kitchen. that is because hells kitchen is by far my favorite. and that really isnt fair. i have been watching Top Chef now for a while, and have watched every season, every episode, and currently watching top chef allstars. this show is alo unique. it has drama, humor, and action. you have Padma as the host and she really does a great job. she knows her food. and i cant spell the other judges names but they are very good as well. and they have guest judges on for the quickfire challenges where the chef's get cool prizes. and you watch them cook or bake mostly everything. it has everything you want in a show. and more. and they do different things to keep it interesting, challenges, quickfire, and of course they go to different locations. you see things that you would never otherwise see in terms of fine food. it keeps you going from the first minute to the last. its worth every dime if you like those type of shows. and although hells kitchen is my favorite, if that is to in your face, Top Chef is perfect for you. i think its fantastic anyway and can go up against just about anything and you will be just as or more entertained by watchin Top Chef. like i said , i own and have seen every season and episode. it has something for everyone. and its a great show to watch with your girlfriend or boyfriend, whom ever your in love with. its a great family show as well.

I really like the series and have seen it before back when ...
I really like the series and have seen it before back when it first aired. I bought this Season to watch all the drama, both good and bad, along with the great cooking. SPOILER ALERT!!!!!I'll probably be censored for this but I am very pissed off in the beginning of the first episode. Some of the chefs were being briefly profiled, and one contestant (I will not name) makes the remark that (may be some slight paraphrasing), "being gay in a kitchen is difficult..." Why is that? What makes them think that they have a handicap in the kitchen because they are gay???!! Playing the instant victim. Being straight in the kitchen is difficult as well for ANYONE who has the honor to appear on this show. Heterosexuals don't feel a need to mention their orientation. And I think in this case it was inappropriate to even mention.

If you bought this season on Instant Video, Amazon knows about the issue of it not appearing in your library
(Absolutely adore this show - it's one of my favorites, if not THE favorite!) If you purchased the series on Instant Video, Amazon is aware that there's an issue with it not appearing in your library. When I look at the website on my computer, at my app on my iPhone, or through my Roku on my TV, Top Chef Season 6 doesn't appear, though if I find it in a search I'm able to watch it, because the system still recognizes that I purchased it. I contacted Amazon and they let me know that their team is aware of the issue and is working to resolve it, so wanted to pass the message along!Just wanted to share the info, since it drives me crazy when people negatively rate a digital product because they had problems downloading it - that's not the author or the actors fault, why penalize the work for it?!

I LOVE Top Chef DVD's!
I'm a Top Chef addict! I have Top Chef seasons on my computer & have been working on getting all the seasons available on DVD. I have nothing to complain about with any season of Top Chef. Even if I prefer one season over another - I would still rate all the seasons with 5 stars because ultimately it's good reality TV (which is very hard to find these days!).I am a professional pet sitter & like to have the DVD format when I'm doing an overnight stay because my netbook is too ancient to have even one season stored on it let alone several. Plus, the cell phone service that I use with my netbook & cell phone (Sprint) is such crap that I sometimes can't get any signal at all.So, I love my Top Chef DVD's & wish BRAVO would release the first 3 seasons too!

Consistently enjoyable
Hey, you either like Top Chef or you don't. It was enjoyable as usual and I always enjoy learning how things are prepared. Eat first as otherwise one can end each show with a binge.Disclaimer: In my world a product that performs as expected will never receive more than four stars. I think that to deserve a five star rating, a product should surprise me with value, benefits and deliverables that exceed my expectations and reasons for choosing it in the first place. Otherwise, how can I give an adequate rate those truly exceptional products that every once in a while, we our great delight, happen upon......

My Favorite Top Chef Season!
Other than the Top Chef All-Stars season this was my favorite season. The level of food that was being produced during this season was complex and exciting. The Voltaggio's were wonderful as was Kevin, Jen, Mike and others. There was also very little out of the kitchen drama in this one as compared to some seasons before and after.I love Top Chef and hope for more seasons like this as opposed to the mediocre "Texas" season.

Worth it.
It was well worth the money and wait to get this episode. Like always a great show, well put together but there were a few editing / out of sequence shots noted. However that is by the side, the contents, the show and the cooking excellent. Bit too many four letter words though for my liking, maybe if Chefs want to impress by lack of language skills they should be edited out of the show.

A huge fan
I am a huge Top Chef fan.I really like cooking shows. Top Chef; Top Chef Masters; Chopped; Dinners, Drive-ins & Dives; etc. In my oninion Top I I am a huge Top Chef fan. In my opinion Top Chef season 6 was the worst season, boreing, a total snoozefest. The only interesting things about season 6 was (and chefs forgive me for miss spelling your names) Chefs Kevin Gelispee and Mike Isabella
