Saw is excellent; allow it to progress the cut w/o forcing it.
This saw was a Xmas 2019 gift to family member craftsman. He is very pleased with the carbide blade saw performance. We note the clamping system is adequate but could be more sturdy/robust for more solid material clamping. Safety is particularly important when using this type cut-off, miter saw to assure there is no binding due to stock matl movement or kick-back from forcing cutting blade. Careful, secure set-up and then allow saw to do the work. Do not force the cut. Therefore, results will be excellent while attending to work safely.

Very impressed with the saw and the really great customer service, but . . .
I don't fabricate for a living but I do a fair amount of fabricating around my properties - for my tractor and vehicles etc. I have been eyeing dry-cut saws for all the same reasons you have, I'm sure. So I bought the Northern Tool Ironton.I have had the saw just over a week, bought it now to make angle cuts on 14ga 2x3 square tubing for my shop build. First off, I was favorably impressed by the price, and the general fit and finish of the saw. Out of the box, the blade to fence to table was not true but this is not uncommon with any saw so I spent maybe ten minutes truing up the blade using the tools that came with the saw (and one metric allen wrench from my tool box) and it was very easy to do. Then I began to cut and wow was it nice compared to abrasive wheels - not as noisy as others have commented on, about the same as my standard chop saw.I did find that cutting square tubing went much nicer if I angled the piece in to begin the cut on the edge of the tubing as opposed to starting on the flat - zero sparks that way so likely the blade will last longer - and the saw went through the tubing like a hot knife through butter leaving a clean, burr -free (almost anyway), and not-hot cut. Just as advertised. I only had to do maybe 30 cuts to finish the framing, enough to appreciate the saw but certainly nothing to cause any ware on the beast.Today I was going to finish mounting my flat-bed trailer's new 1x1 square tubing side rails so I got ready to haul the saw over to my welding shop and I thought I'd cut the bottom of a piece of 3" pipe I'm using to make a mounting stand for a vise (I have seven vises so I always have one handy when I need it). I had cut the pipe off with a Saws All and it was maybe 1/4" out of square. The cut started out nicely but just at the end of the cut, no more cutting - the saw blade was not turning but the motor was still humming along nicely - something stripped or snapped internally on the arbor.I trouble shot the problem, confirmed nothing could be done without parts and so I called Northern Tool. I was promptly connected with a very nice American woman in customer service who asked me if I wanted a refund or a replacement. I said replacement and she told me that she had just ordered me one and it was on the way, gave me an RMA number, and dispatched me a free return label via email - giving me 30 days to return the defective saw.The upshot is, 1. I LOVE using a dry-cut saw 2. I was happy with this saw, especially for the price 3. I am unhappy that the saw did not hold up to my light use but I hope it was simply a one-time defect 4. The customer service could not have been better 5. I'm glad I bought the 4-year extended warranty for $25 6. I'm looking forward to getting the replacement and wish I had more projects in the works immediately to put the saw through its paces before time passes - I'll have to figure out some more projects so I can at least get a couple of hundred cuts done and I can confirm that the replacement saw is a good one. Update to come, hopefully it will be a good one.

Well built for the money
Fantastic Dry cutting saw for the money. Its built a lot strong then some of the more expensive brands. Its does have a cheap stamped out base, but a heave forged one. I would highly recommend it for the diy weekend warriors.

This is a piece of trash. Don't buy this saw. These are not the droids you're looking for.
I have had this saw for three months. I have had issues with it since I bought it. I am very much of the old school nature, don't throw it away, learn to use it correctly and if it breaks, fix it.I have encountered an issue with the base being out of spec 0.011, which I was able to resolve by shimming one side of the swing arm and adding a washer between the . I have encountered an issue with the safety button coming apart while I was running the saw. This took me three hours to fix as the saw uses an EU type switch which I to this day can not find schematics on. Lastly today, after constantly trying to adjust the saw to get square miter cuts numerous times, I found out the fence, which is just a bent and dimpled piece of 3/16" plate, has bent out of square with the flat bar blade insert. The insert should be a ground piece of flat stock, not just a piece of hot rolled A36.I know Amazon has numerous dry cut saws in the $500.00 range of which I could have purchased and frankly, I should have done such. I should have returned this piece of trash when I first put in on the table and was the junk casting. If you just want to make straight 90 degree cuts, This can be made to work. If you want to get any kind of accurate and square miters, this is not the saw. It's shit.

Good product, bad Blade!
I received the saw and it worked great, until after the 8 angle iron cuts, 1 -2 1/4" steel round stock, and 1 -1" aluminum square tube, the blade stopped cutting. I would have thought it would last a lot longer. The motor is working well, just the blade crapped out. Not to happy!

Nice tool
Excellent tool. Much better cut than the abrasive saws I am used to using and faster. Cut stock comes out cool to the touch. Cuts are finer quality and more square than abrasive saws. Good price. Not sure why I waited so long to get this.

Cold cut dry saw
Awesome fit, haven't tried on any thing other than 1/8 inch or less thickness. Works great on tube both SQ and Rd. Great on angle iron.
