A very deep conversation and masterful job of ideas and dialogue
I think if you are a Christian you will love the content and dialogue between St. John and Adrian, mind opening thoughts.

MORE THAN A STORY BOOK. An encounter with God
Baxter and I grow up in the same part of Mississippi at the same time and under the same cloud of foggy mixture-the good of southern religious culture and the BAD of southern religious culture. Baxter did the hard demanding work of a theological education coupled with a tenacious hunger for truth and came through the fiery furnace of inner conflict to become a masterful expounder of the true heart of God found in the gospel. Do not fear you will encounter the confusing angry schizophrenic god of tradition nor the wispy goofy god of new age wishful thinking. NO you will encounter the LIVING GOD, the consuming fire who so hates evil and loves us that He will die to give Himself to us and to take us into Him.Woven amidst familiar (to me) Mississippi humor is a masterful treatment of theology, history, psychology, philosophy and engaging story telling.Stay away from this book if all you are looking for is a rehashing of the same confusing theology that has hijacked the title or 'orthodoxy.' If you want to ge beyond men's traditions that claim the title or orthodoxy and to press through to the heart of God for the world, then this book is for you.Clay McLean

Lord enlighten us, we pray
I loved the Shack. Then I did the series with Paul Young and Baxter, Restoring the Shack. Which was excellent. Now this book has landed by Devine appointment on my Kindle. Thank You, Jesus!!!I could not put it down. It is the only great thing that has come out of being house bound. And it offers a lifetime of searching an opportunity to make its home in my heart. Satan has had a field day with me for 73 years, putting doubt and separation theories in my head. Holy Spiritually this book\vision has opened my heart and I pray given me Jesus' eyes to see clearly in these desperate times. Please email me at [email protected] or text me at 702-236-4552 of any conferences or telecasts I can tune into for continued support and encouragement. God bless you and Paul for your continued insight for the healing of the nation's. This is a five star plus book. I recommended it to all my family and friends. I thank God for you! Be blessed and safe. Shirley Smith

Ready to think outside your theological box? PATMOS is a book that will resonate w you.
This is a captivating time-travel book. Premise: a disillusioned and burned-out 21st century minister is transported back to first-century Patmos for a three-day encounter w the elderly Apostle John and his faith takes on new vitality and focus as a result. Same genre as THE SHACK. Creative and thought-provoking.

Taken Into An Eternal Truth Hidden In Plain Sight
Patmos gives permission to the heart that believes more and yearns for more to be free. Christ hidden in us is a mystery revealed yet hidden. This fictional yet divinely inspired conversation with the Apostle John is fresh breath, life and food for the hungry soul. Put aside all preconceived notions and allow yourself to be encouraged.

Great fictional format to explore a fresh/ancient look at the Gospel
Theology often stirs expectation (fears really) of stuffy, boring, irrelevant religious science. Patmos breaks that expectation and discards the fear. Reading it connects you with the original passion of the gospel writers. Here comes your most important choice...union or separation?Did God come to humanity in the incarnation as Jesus, teach us what a righteous life could look like, bear our sins on the cross, rise again to prove he did it right, then ascend to heaven and leave us separated but with an opportunity to find our way there by 'finding' him? Or...did Jesus come to us as the one sent by the Father to find us, reconcile us to his Father and ours, and gather us into his very life and face-to-face relationship (union) with the Father by destroying the power of sin, death, and deception in which we were all ensnared? In reading Patmos, I experienced a very clear, life-giving, and entertaining nudge to help me confidently engage and answer these most important questions. I recommend this book with great enthusiasm.

Incredible!
After the 1st chapter I wasn't sure I was going to continue to read the book. The writing was a little weak but stick with it because it gets into some awesome truths. Total shift into acceptance and love. GREAT book. It'll cause you to realize that God is NOT separated from us as so much religion teaches. A must read!

Patmos opens another world
This book has challenged many of the precepts of my life. It has made me look for similar episodes of my life and there are more than a few. I shall need to re think so much in the light of God’s mercy. I once met Jesus in a dream. He said ask me anything. Before I could stop myself and think of a brilliant question I blurted out “is the bible really true”. His brilliant answer “it all speaks of me”. Now I have work to do, but I have the feeling it will not be a burden, but a light to show the way.

Great Finale
Really enjoyed this book towards the end. I did find the start a little slow going but as I got into it, it became more exciting towards the end. If you are not familiar with C. Baxter Kruger's theology, this book will pack a punch. However I have read many of his books so am familiar with his message. Maybe this spoilt it a bit for me with this book, as I felt I was going over old ground. However in the second half of the book there were some real pearls of wisdom and much food for thought. If you loved the Shack, then you'll love this book.

Good book. But jolts a bit. Not smooth.
Great book. Not quite as riveting as another one on the market! But nevertheless some real gems in it. A little jolting. Baxter writes theology much better than fiction! You can feel that reading this book. It doesn’t slide so well. But catches, however, definitely worth reading. But do try to get it secondhand. Not quite worth the market price.

What a Vision!
This book was overwhelming in its portrayal of the heart of Jesus. Using a vision, a story of a three day encounter between a burned out pastor and the apostle John to highlight Jesus' incarnation and revelation for us allows us to grasp truths of God which would be muddled in a commentary. This book opens our eyes to see ourselves through Jesus' eyes. Amazing!
