Received this and it was pure white. I did as a stain and paint and it looks beautiful. Easy to install.

This is a beautiful medallion! It was a little small for the canopy I have, but I was able to shave some off and Dremel it to get it to fit. I painted it to match my chandelier and am very happy with it!Update: So good I bought it twice! Purchased again for my bathroom Reno and couldn't be happier.

This medallion is gorgeous! I installed it in three rooms in my house. Super easy to paint with spray paint.

Remodeling my home and attempting to keep it in the era in which it was built (early 1900's) and this fit the bill. It looks great and I was able to paint it to match the ceiling paint. I'm a happy camper right now.

Light weight, particularly a good thing since you don't want it falling down due to its weight. Matte finish also looks great with ceiling paint.

I had a really hard time deciding how to rate this item. The product description says that the item is cuttable and paintable. I needed the inner opening to be a 1/4" larger to accommodate my light fixture, and a drywall saw did NOT do the job. We finally used a grinding bit on a dremel to widen the hole, roughly. As for the painting, I wanted a distressed, aged look for the finish, so I pulled out my all purpose acrylics. The paint would not stick. I sprayed it with a primer coat, even though it is supposedly already primed. The paint stuck slightly better, enough that I was able to finish. After digging through the product PDF's, it says latex or oil based paints are what is recommended. Sigh.Despite the problems getting the medallion ready to mount, the end result was a beautiful fixture. It is a wonderful design, cleanly executed and lightweight. I just wish it was as easy to prepare as the description would have you believe.
