Nice personal touch!
Just as pictured, nice weight, robust and I know this will outlast a lifetime with proper care. Great value! Getting what is advertised is always grand but this seller really prompted me to uncharacteristically do a product review for the mere fact that a hand written thank you letter was included. It really means a plethora to me and it speaks to the thought for the customer this seller has. Easy 5 stars! Fully recommended

1/4 to 1/2 Size Off at Every Measurement
I purchased this two months ago, and spent considerable effort communicating with the company where I buy my ring blanks, to complain that their ring blanks were not properly labeled with regard to size. That company spot-checked the next ring blanks they sent me, ensuring all were accurate, and suggested I purchase a different ring sizing mandrel. I did this, and it turns out that the sizing of every ring blank is now appropriately per the packaging, and consistent with this new mandrel. This is a terrible product and now I am outside the window of return because it took so long to figure out what was wrong.

Good, heavy, solid metal. Arrived with a few deep(ish) but small scratches
I was pleasantly surprised by this mandrel. I make jewelry, and wanted a good one for a long time, not just for ring making, but as a guide for various wire bending projects as well. I didn't expect it to be as solid and sturdy as it is. It's very heavy and will stay put. It looks like it will last a long time as well. Packaging was very professional and nice looking as well, and there's a plastic sleeve to keep it in.My only minor complaint is that it arrived with a couple of small, fairly deep scratches (see first image). There were no burrs or sharp edges that would hurt the material you're working with, but they're not something you could just buff out.

Used to reshape rings
My wife has lots of rings and some were misshapen. That's a pretty common occurrence. In the past, my mother has had some problems with taking things to bad jewelers, where stones were switched and even gold removed from items. I've never had that issue, but it's a concern when you're talking about multi thousand dollar items. I thought to myself, "how hard can this be"? I watched about 2 videos and bought this mandrel and resized/reshaped all the misshapen rings in less than 5 minutes. I saw comments about it being "stainless steel" and others where it rusted. I don't see anywhere that it says it's stainless (which by the way can still rust or stain). It seems like it's probably steel in the white. Others said it was oiled, which again is because it has to have a rust preventative on it. I work in manufacturing so this all made sense to me. After use, I wiped it down and applied a very good rust preventative on it and wrapped it back up in it's great packaging (bag -maybe vci? and hard plastic tube). Just do that and keep it in the house and it will be perfect next time you need to resize or reshape something. I mean it's not super expensive in the first place, but it is a nice tool. As far as the "accuracy", that wasn't important to me. I guess you could use some measuring items to figure out what the discrepancy is then apply it uniformly. Keep in mind different edge types on rings will need to be measured differently.

heavy duty stainless steel meant for shaping softer metals like silver
great mandrel, different design than i'm use to, but liked the handle in the middle. i didn't have a vise to grip the handle, but i can see the benefit of that.well etched markings and they don't interfere with ring making.

Sweet Jesus this things a beast 😍
Just on weight and packaging alone. This thing is deadly, no complaints whatsoever. Gonna take a lot of use and abuse. Can't wait
