Fat Brass = Fat Tone For Floating Floyds
The Floyd Rose Fat Brass L block made a WORLD of difference on my particular guitar. The instrument that I installed it in is a Fender Fat Strat Floyd Standard equipped with a Ping brand licensed Floyd.I did have to open up the holes in the bridge plate and find new mounting screws (the Ping Floyd had smaller mounting screws) but that was a minor issue. The body had to be relieved in the rear trem cavity but that too was a minor issue taken care of with a Dremel tool.I've played this guitar for the last several years with the Floyd blocked (dive only) and it sustained like my Gibsons and had excellent tone.Recently I decided to let it float again and the sustain and tone just disappeared so I started looking for a "fat brass" sustain block. The Floyd Rose brand was the most inexpensive option so that's the route I decided to go (this was an experiment as much as anything). The Ping Floyd already had a brass block but it was half the size and weight of the Floyd Rose Fat Brass L.Now I'm not going to say that all the sustain and tone that it had before came back, but what resulted is a guitar that does indeed sustain and once again has really good tone. The notes ring out much clearer and longer when depressing or pulling up on the bar than they did with the stock block. As noted earlier, this was NOT a drop in fit and probably won't be on any other guitar. If you're comfortable using basic hand tools and you understand the workings of a Floyd Rose then you should be o.k. installing this.Otherwise take it to someone more qualified. All in all, this is pretty much a game changing addition to this particular guitar. If you float your Floyd I feel that the Floyd Rose Fat Brass L Shaped Tremolo Block would be something you might want to consider putting on your guitar.

Holy cow!!!
I’ll admit, I was a little skeptical at first, But holy cow, this thing is a beast! For me, it made a very big difference on my guitar. I have a Washburn N4. The original stock block was 34 mm. I went with a 37 mm L-shaped for my Floyd, and if it’s great. I may have to do a little routing in the future to bend down more, it does add some significant mass, and it does hinder the movement of your Floyd. But again I went with the L-shaped and that is why. So keep in mind if you get the L-shaped, you may have to do a little adjusting on the body for it to have full range of motion for dive bombs. Big improvement with tone, more punch, tighter sound, made Lows more beefy, highs are brighter, great upgrade!!

Very Impressive On 2017 Wolfgang
I was skeptical when installing this block but I can say without a doubt it makes the strings much clearer in definition with more grunt. Sustain is much improved and the 42 size does not interfere with the range of motion, fits the cavity just fine. I marked the saddles well before removal and don't bother removing the 2 outside saddles as you can get all 3 screws without removing them at least on the EVH version. Really easy job and TAKE YOUR TIME, it will save you lots in terms of intonation. After hearing the difference with the block I installed american made EVH pickups on the bridge and neck and I could not be happier. What a beast.

FR Special is a piece of junk, don't waste your time and money on it.
I bought an LTD M 400 that came with a FL Special, which is a total POS. I wound up buying a FL Original base plate, a set of T 1000 saddles and this tone block since I couldn't find anyone with a FL Original term in stock. What a difference. My trem is now all steel, almost triple the weight, and works perfect. No wonder the Specials cost less than $100 bucks. The difference in tone, sustain, and weight makes it worth every penny.

Almost perfect.
A relatively inexpensive upgrade for my Licensed Floyd copy. Installation was relatively easy, although the unit does not ship with the screws to attach the block to the baseplate. Unfortunately, the original screws for my existing bridge did not match up with the new block. Quick trip to a specialty hardware store and $2.00 rectified the issue. Supplying the unit with matching threaded screws would have yielded a 5 star rating. Noticeable improvement in clarity depth and sustain in comparison to the original block.

Read the description. You will most likely need to route the cavity to allow clearance.
It states it in the description. So believe it. It does exactly what's described and did an excellent job of adding mass. Whether it's an improvement is up to the end user, but on my guitar combined with a brass claw and stiffer springs I definitely preferred the end result.

So let’s get into it
Sorry I couldn’t provide an actual photo because I was too excited and immoderately installed it on my FR lol anywho, it is as described and is an official Floyd rose product with official packaging. My block has som slight scuffs on it but no big deal, won’t prevent it from serving it’s glorious purpose. So… I was curious if I’d get the same sustain and tune retention if I just installed a brass block on my LTD FR special, the sustain…. Yes!!! It sounds fantastic but the tuning just drops after a heavy dive bomb. If you’re reading this, just save yourself the trouble and buy the German original FR, not the Korean 1000 or the Korean 1000 pro, “the original”, there’s a significant difference in quality. Also If you can manage to locate them, brass fine tuner springs and brass reinforcement plate, I highly recommend the 42mm brass block if anyone happens to be skeptical about them. I have a LTD MH330 FR, fits just fine but I did have to grind out a small part of the cavity with a simple $20 rotary tool from Walmart because I wanted a wider range of motion for the bridge. My girl went from subpar to a screamer! If you have my guitar or one like it, don’t worry it will fit but you may not have complete range of motion but as I stated, cheap tool, grinding head, took about 15 minutes and I have never done anything like that before, it’s easy, take your time, grind out only what you need to. A routing saw is ideal but not needed.

Adds tons of life to a guitar with a Floyd Rose
Great upgrade but if you don't have experience intonations a Floyd Rose have a good tech/luthier install, or anticipate many hours learning to intonate your bridge. This is because installation requires the user to remove the saddles completely to access the screws that anchor the bridge. The effect of adding the block was substantial in my case. It was a bit too wide so I had to get out the 40 through 3,500 grit sandpaper so that the bridge sat level. My trem is non-recessed so it actually allowed me to block it as well. The effect is not subtile. No more brittleness, more even voice across the frequency range, lots and lots more sustain.

Excellent product
I bought this product twice to replace cheap block in Floyd Rose Special. Recommend without reservations, there is noticeable difference that impacts the way the guitar plays (both when plugged in the amp, and unplugged). I personally prefer brass to titanium blocks, because it gives a more warm sound. Not sure the additional mass of the L-shape sounds better compared to the non-L-shaped block, as I haven't tried the regular brass block. The difference in price between the regular and L-shaped blocks is around £10-15, so I thought I should go for the L-shape anyway (because this is a guitar part that will last a lifetime, so in the long-run the price difference is not noticeable).
