The Three Little Pigs: 11 (Lift-the-Flap Fairy Tales, 11)

My baby really loves books. These bright colours really captivate him and he studies every page, he’s a bit young to lift the flap but he does try. Great story. Big thumbs up

My 2.5 year old loves this book. The rhyming is great and the flaps are really imaginatively done. My little girl loves closing the windows and doors to stop the wolf getting in. Really helps young children start to interact with the events in the story and therefore help with early comprehension skills. She enjoys listening to the CD too. Slight shame that there some of the original dialogue isn't including but we just added this in ourselves.

The only reason you may be disappointed with this book is because it doesn't have much of the classic 'I'll huff, and I'll puff and I'll blow your house in' and no 'not by the hairs on my chinny chin chin'. But with having fun saying those two phrases on the appropriate pages you can make this book more traditional if you're a fairy tale purist. I like to read this book which is more of a fun modern poetic take on the three little pigs story before reading the more traditional tale to my children and it's lovely to contrast them.The illustrations, flaps and pop out last page Wolf falling into a cauldron are excellent. The cover looks a little old fashioned and uninspiring from the amazon stock photo but in reality the book has vibrant colours and the quality and detail of the illustrations is excellent.To give you an idea of the contents there are roughly 8-10 lines of poetic text on each double page spread such as:"It's time we left," the piggies said,"And built homes of our own."And as they kissedtheir mum goodbye,She said, "Be sure to phone."I would also highly recommend buying the  Melissa & Doug Three Little Pigs Play Set  which comes with the ultra traditional tale and works well with this modern version too as children can squash the houses, move and squeak the numbered pigs around and pop the wolf down the chimney.

My 5 year old loves this book. Lovey story, beautifully illustrated with very durable flaps!

My son likes this book - the rhymes are very well constructed and flow well, making it easy to read. The illustrations bright, colourful, cheerful and enhanced by 'lift the flaps'. Not sure the flaps of the final brick house are quite as good as the rest. A good telling of the story which is not too scary for the vivid imagine of a 3 year old and is also pretty close to the original traditional tale.

The format is perfect for under 5s and the story is just the right length for reading out loud. They will enjoy opening the flaps and interacting with the story. The CD is a bonus, as they will be able to listen to it in the car going home from their visit to us.I worked in a busy Children's Library years ago, and when this version of 3 Little Pigs was first published it was a great success, and I am sure it always will be!

I saw this in my schools library and knew my son would love it.A fun colourful book with flaps for all children to enjoy.

My daughter loves this range of books and CD's and we have almost bought them all now. This story is very well read, like the others and is retold as a witty rhyme which makes my daughter chuckle every time. Anything that results in shouts of "Again, again, again" from my little one is a hit with me.

I teach English to kids age 4 to 10. Every year I prepare a theater play of the 3 little pigs with the 4 to 6 year olds. I have many books of the 3 little pigs and I always save this one for last because it's the absolute best one. My kids love it. I have also bought it very often as gifts. You can't go wrong with this book. Pics are totally adorable.

This is a birthday gift but I thumbed through it and it’s cute!

My 2 year old twin girls love this book. Initially one of them was scared of this story because of the big bad wolf. But after seeing the version in this book, she is no longer frightened.Love the flaps...great read at any time of the day. My girls "read" the story to me now!

Libro e cd sono molto carini, soprattutto per la parte in cui il bambino può scoprire la scena nascosta dai flip-flap, ad esempio dopo che il lupo soffia si può aprire la finestrella e vedere che la casa di paglia è caduta.Unica pecca è l'inizio della storia in cui i maialini se ne devono andare perché non c'è più posto per loro in casa visto l'arrivo di nuovi cuccioli maialini, non è un libro che suggerirei a chi sta per avere un secondo/terzo figlio forse.
