Good for small job not big ones
Didn’t work as great as I’d hoped . I’m currently building a classic ride and needed this for paint and rust removal. Did work some small areas but definitely not using again

Very good stripping disc
These discs sort of blur the line between stripping discs (made for removing paint) and non woven surface conditioning discs. They strip paint with relative ease and leave the underlying metal surface a nice shiny bright finish. They worked so well on painted metal that I tried them on some welded metal just to see if they would smooth and blend the welded areas. They worked great! I mean I had sanded the weld down with coarser discs but the final blending was done with these discs and they did a great job. I usually would have used a fine grit emery disc or a red or brown surface conditioning disc for this type of work but these stripping discs did a really good job. I liked that I could apply heavier pressure to these discs and the blend still looked nice.

Good for quick paint-prep jobs
These are effective on surface rust and old paint. They leave a pretty good surface, you might need a finer surface conditioning disc afterwards to get the finish you need depending on where the paint job falls on the functional -> cosmetic spectrum. They are NOT effective on mill scale (the black, ceramic-like surface on hot-rolled steel), but I wouldn't expect them to be. Even sandpaper has a tough time with that; it's essentially the same hardness as the aluminum oxide in the sandpaper.I used these on a wheel repaint job where the paint behind the openings in the hubcaps had broken down and started to rust. These reached in there nicely, took care of the rust, and blended well with the paint that had held up. Those surfaces are behind the hubcap so I wasn't too concerned about producing a mirror finish and the surface left by these pads was ready for primer right after a paint-prep (solvent degreasing) wipe down.Very handy and enough here to last you a while. I'd do it again and recommend.
