Pole detached twice when towing sons car.
Pretty dangerous, pole detached twice whilst towing my sons car, both times when going downhill, use it at your own risk. Once we were on a dual carriageway, bit of a stressfest, but made it home then threw it into bin and had a couple of Valium.

This product looked great folded down small so easy to store. Very easy to assemble in a quick time and easy to attach to the vehicles. I would advise that you check the towing weight of the vehicle you are going to use to to do the pulling part of the tow. The first time of use we had gone about 5 miles at a very steady 10-15 mph. As I approached a junction so in plenty of time took foot off accelerator and after 10 ish seconds slowly applied the brake this action was very steady. I expected the car on tow to slow and for the spring in the bar to take any shock, to my surprise I felt a very hard jolt. I got out to see what had happened and the bar snapped at the join of solid bar to spring (during assembly you don't touch this part) and that the car had rear ended me. This actually wrote the car off!!!!!

Better quality than I was expecting.
Much better made than I was expecting. Strong gauge metal tube. Very easy to put together. Towed a transit connect van with seized engine, so I had to do all the braking. Worked very well. Makes clanking/rattling noises, but that normal. Just drive gently. Towed up to 40mph on A road. All was great. The hooks that connect to vehicles could do with a thick rubber coating to stop the rattling, which makes you think something has broken! I'm going to shrink some rubber pipe onto them.

Reassuring to Have
As the reluctant owner of a French-made car I thought it a good idea to invest in a tow rope.Thankfully l haven’t needed to use it yet. But having had a good look when it arrived I can report the following:- it seems well made with substantial attachment hooks at each end- the webbing and stitching are good quality- it is supplied in a zip-up pouch meaning that the tow rope (more like a strap actually) packs up into small pouch which is easy to stow in a glovebox. It takes up very little space. One point to note is that I purchased the 2 tonne version, which is fine for a standard family car but will absolutely not tow a substantial 4x4.Overall this is good quality at a very reasonable price and is reassuring to have tucked away in the car.

Not Fit For Purpose, and Arrived Damaged
The towing strap is thin - about half as thick as my previous car-towing strap, which I gave to a friend when he needed one in an emergency. I concur with other reviewers, who state that this product may not be capable of towing a vehicle without snapping, under normall towing conditions. Another minus is that the carry-pouches of both items (I bought two of them) were defective (cracked and broken clear plastic viewing windows). I recommend that you buy a more substantial (albeit more expensive) alternative towing strap.
