I have tried several ring splitters and this has been the most functional, especially for small fishing rings. Simple and fast. Good size and good finish.

This guy s great for split rings up to size 270 lb size. The 5/0 trebble hooks on an eddy bomb is where you need a bigger pair. Well made. Good steel

I had a hard time find the right set of split ring pliers for my application which is general use. I use split rings for small rigging applications and they range in size from 1/4" to 2". When searching for the tool they tend to be split into categories; hobby/jewelry making, fishing, and misc utility. It was hard to figure out what each category meant in terms of what they did and what they could handle in size. The Xuron pliers are really unique in the design. The jaw opposing the one with the splitting 'tooth' has a notch in it that perfectly assists in further opening the ring once it's been initially 'split'.

For the price, I think these are outstanding. I had previously bought a pair locally, for about double the price, that weren't nearly as well built. I use these for changing out hooks on small split rings used on fishing lures, and they work very well for that. I can swap out a pair of treble hooks in less than a minute and so much easier than trying to open split rings by hand, screwdriver, etc. These pliers seem to be good quality, well put together, with nice grips on the handles that seem durable yet still comfortable to use.Overall, I would recommend these to anyone.

i tried other plyers they bent broke at the tip and where very hard to use and to install my high quality strong flat rings i had to use vise grigs to hold the plyers closed while i try to stretch open the ring, a nightmare that took sometimes 1/2 hour to install one ring, on my edc flaslight and tools. finally the solution arrived on christmas eve, with the zuron i was able to take off the bent ring that i installed with tremendous pain with the other plyers, in seconds reinstalled a new one without bending it in seconds, the zuron is one strong, small, efficient, mighty tool. buy this now without hesitation, i put my name on it, merry christmas god loves you. usa strong made.

I was looking for pliers that would open jump rings (to save my finger nails) and this fit the bill perfectly. It's a little more expensive than some of the others, but it works so much better! My friend found out the hard way by saving a few dollars. I tried the one she got, and I'm so glad I got this Xuron one instead. It is so much easier to use. I have two other Xuron pliers & I knew this would be the best one on the market. Do not hesitate to get this.

These are tough little pliers and really easy to use. I used them immediately with fly tying split rings and they split the rings open with no effort at all.

Very reliable. Use for X/0 split rings. Hasn’t let us down yet.As this particular brand has a good reputation it is quite expensive and worth it at this point in time.
