A nice mystery tale
Though it's a mystery thriller, there's a cozy side to the story that makes you feel good. I recommend the book to those looking for something inner-empowering.

I enjoyed it
There were moments where I had to suspend my disbelief but once I did I really enjoyed following Lacey through her story of moving to England, and the mystery was interesting.

Boys will be Boys( and Girls will, too)
I think I read this before, years ago and it’s just as good the second time around ! As well as the crime(s), there’s lots of fun, romance and gorgeous sounding cakes and goodies.

Excellent first book in the series
I really enjoyed this book. I liked the main character Lacey.I have one very, very small criticism: the French région is not Breton, but Bretagne. Breton is an adjective for anything coming from Bretagne.

Good ideas but ...
Mrs Grace had a great idea, but unfortunately the execution of the story is a bit lacking.Lacey Doyle, an American goes on an impromptu trip to the United Kingdom after her divorce is through. So far so good. The story has all the ingredients one needs for a good whodunit: the niggling mother, the unsupportive selfish sister, the self-centered ex-husband, the nasty chef, the nice guy across the street, supportive new neighbors, nice landscape... food, a dog... the body...it is all there but it does not blend.Mrs Grace wants too much. She starts with one idea... skedaddles to the next and the ways her figures behave are not really logical or consequential. She does a lot of 'tell' where the book could do with some nice 'show'.It is a pity. Because this book could be so much more entertaining.
