Once Firmware Updated, Perfect!
Without discovering a video 'how-to' in order to update the firmware, I'd have been lost but, after viewing and updating, the unit now performs perfectly. I use it for my new podcasting sessions and where it's a joy to use.

Item obviously not NEW
Very poor, when the item you purchased as new is obviously not.Marks on the casing, box was ripped and not sealed. Was anything missing from the centre box, I don't know.I will give 5 stars if this can be explained🤨

Terrible noise floor, and ground-looping
A very long story short..... I purchased the Mixcast4 after having a Rodecaster Duo for a few days. I realised I wanted more input options than what the Duo could offer, so I went with the Tascam as I already have a number of Tascam products which have been really good - this wasn't the case with the Mixcast4. In fact once you factor in buying inline mic boosters or a cloud lifter for mics like the Shure SM7B, you may as well buy the Rodecaster Pro II - which is what I ended up doing after returning the Tascam. The main issue with the Mixcast4 was the really loud noise floor. It was overwhelming and with occasional ground-looping - the result, 2 unusable client jobs. Now, I might have had a particularly faulty unit, however, against my better judgement I purchased the Tascam despite reading a number of reviews outlining similar problems to what I had experienced.Do yourself a favour, go to a store and try out different options before you part with hundreds of pounds.

Tascam always unreliable
Bought three previous machines from them , no updates after a couple years ,wasted money.
