This keeps some of the seeds etc off the deck from suet cake.
The birds flock to this and I have seen as many as 4 on at a time. They love it and I love watching them out the window. Great product!

Great price!
Very well made, especially for the price. I love that there is a place for the birds to perch comfortably.

Feeds the birds!
It just barely fits two suet cakes if you force them in. I like to use two at a time so you don't have to change them as often. I also like that it has a small bottom tray, so that excess pieces don't drop on the ground, but it can collect a little water as a result. Seems pretty sturdy. We get mostly red-bellied and downy/hairy woodpeckers at this suet feeder, but occasionally a nuthatch or chickadee will feed there too.

Attractive. Solid bottom. My type for sure. Woodpeckers galore.
I wanted a suet feeder with a solid bottom to cut down on the suet crumbs in the yard that my dogs spend too much time on. It does cut the down on the crumbs (but doesn’t eliminate them since birds have notoriously bad table manners). It’s more attractive than the mesh squares. Not the sturdiest construction but sturdy enough to stand up to squirrels if you mount it right. Most importantly; we get a lot more woodpeckers than we did with the traditional square suet feeder.

Feeder can also help birds to make nests
The directions were great in also suggesting to fill a feeder with yarn threads to help birds build nests. I am waiting to see if any mama birds will take advantage of it. Also followed other comments and put 2 normal-sized suet cakes in one feeder so birds with short beaks can easily access from both sides.

Keeps squirrels out for the most part
I liked the top cover; it keeps the food stuffs dry and helps to keep squirrels out

Easy to load
I like these. They are easy to put suet cakes in and are sturdy. Squirrels are knocking them off my stand so need to figure out a better way to hang them but I like the product.

Difficult to open to add suet
The top is difficult to take off and add new suet especially when it is cold outside. I would not recommend it. The only pro is that squirrels or raccoons can't open it, but it doesn't stop them from stealing the feeder or eating the suet.
