Works great, easy install
Another ham gave me two Yaesu mikes with frayed cords. I found out these replacement cords were available, so I refurbished the mikes myself. When they arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to find that they come with a 6-pin plug. No soldering is necessary, just open up the mike, unplug the damaged cord, plug the new one in, and put the mike back together. Easy!

Beautiful construction
Very nice microphone, but was returned because I ordered the wrong pin configuration.

Can’t talk without a moc
Preformed as expected. It doesn’t get better than that.

Well worth the money.
I really wasn't expecting much for the price, but it blew me away. The people I talk to say I sound as good or better than my old mic. I'll except that for a positive. The quality is good and everything works like my OEM mic.I have a Yaesu FT- 897D and it was plug and play. The quality of the mic cord was very impressive alone for the price.I may switch the cord over to my OEM mic and see if it cures my problems that I was having with the original mic. If it cures them, I will order another mic for just the cord.Oh, the backlight. Some say it's to bright, but I like the little extra brightness.I really don't think that you can go wrong with this mike.

Worth the money for the cord alone.
Okay, the microphone might not be the same quality and as your Yaesu, but if your cord is the only problem, you can use this cord by removing three screws in the mic head and simply unplugging the cable. Do the same for you OEM mic and plug in the new cord. The knock off version of mic is not the same quality of sound as the original and the lights are way too bright. By replacing the cord only you keep your same quality sound and the light that you are used to.

Better than original
My 10 year old or so FT7900 Yaesu (that had sat indoors mostly unused all that time) Mic cablehad rotted so badly it was falling apart. SO I looked around for alternatives and thought I'd just replace the cable as these were availablehere on Amazon and eBay. For around the same cost or a bit less than this complete mic. So I decided I'd gamble and try this mic rather than fix my old mic with a replacement cable. Boy am I glad I did that. The mic I got sounds fine, works fine and looks fine. The LED lights on the keypad are MUCH brighter than the ones on my old OEM mic from 10 or so years ago. Cable flex seems fine to me. Can't complain at all. For the cost this is a 10 out of 10 for sure. Least for my sample anyway.YMMVP.S. I tossed the old mic in junk bin. Not sure why it didn't end up in trashcan, can't think of a reasonI'd ever use it again. However the part of my mind that thinks of things like zombie apocalypses' figuresrandom garbage in my collection may come in handy in the final days. SHrug

Exactly like the original Yaesu
Everything on this hand mic is like the Yaesu hand mic. The only difference I have spotted is that the backlights are brighter and more red than orange, but overall happy with the purchase to replace another mic that I busted.

Great replacement, easy install
Stress at the radio side plug caused the cable to partly pull out. It is not easy fing the long body RJ11 plug and then there is the crimp tool. This replacement cable was well worth the cost. Three screw on the back of the mic freed the clamshell case. Unplug the old cable, plug in the new, set the cable grommet and it is ready to close up. Took 5 minutes. Mt FT 8800 is back in service. Still need to reduce the stress on the cable as it exits the radio at the RJ11 plug.
