Reads more microchip types than the Halo scanner
For UK chips this reads really fast and from 100mm away from chip location - better than any scanner we have used. We volunteer helping cats and dogs be adopted from Cyprus and this is the only chip reader we have found can read them properly. The Halo scanner does not read those at all.*UpdateStill working well, when not used for a few weeks it seems to take a couple of attempts to identify - this may just be the microchips taking a while to 'wake up' as repeat scans finds them instantanously.The upload feature is good. Connect the scanner to a PC via the included USB cable, then open an application such as Notepad, Excel, Word. Place the cursor where you want the input to start. Hold the scanner button down, and after around 3 seconds it will start uploading (I think it emulates 'keyboard' input) the ID's will start appearing in a column/line by line, depending on the application used - you can now release the button btw. According to the manufacturer it stores 128 ID's and when full it starts overwriting from No.1 - note there were some random ID's, mainly zeroes at the start, I think this is a QA check at the factory.As it uploads the entire contents each time, I have just created an Excel sheet so that it overwrites its own data (I've put names against ID's - we get a few as involved with a rescue charity).When I get to 128 I'll come up with a system or formula to keep the older numbers if need be.There doesn't seem to be a way to delete the entries or reset the device, as said they will eventually get overwritten.I'll update if anything else becomes relevant.
