Yes, the bags stand on its own. They are quite sturdy, I used them for baked goods.

Q: Will this hold a jumbo muffin?

The bag is 3.5 inches in width, if your muffin is that width or less, it will work, otherwise, I think you may have some difficulty. It's going to be all about the muffin's top. Maybe you can adjust the batter a little to make it a little smaller? No disrespect, I'm a baker myself so I know what goes into baking and giving away and shipping. The bags themselves are very good, look great as gifts and I recommend them. Hope this helps, good luck.
