MartinsonDark Roast, Dark Roast Coffee, Keurig K-Cup Brewer Compatible Pods, 48 Count (Pack of 1)

I was first introduced to K-Cups by staying at various hotels; the K-Cup machine being popular for in-room breakfast bars. They always stocked Green Mountain Coffee, it was always stale, and always disappointing, but it was free, so not much to complain about. I vowed never to get a K-Cup machine. Then a friend introduced me to K-Cups made by Starbucks, a week later I had my own K-Cup Brewer. Starbucks is not the gold standard for K-Cups, though they are top quality. I usually buy them at the store because I've never had a great experience buying K-Cups online, it seems like they are always stale, no matter who you order from (even Starbucks). A Starbucks K-Cup sells for between $0.90-$1.00 in store, they're pretty pricey, but I've never been disappointed. The coffee is always fresh, and the Dark Roasts, my personal preference, do not loose the bold, complex flavor I have come to expect from a Starbucks Darkroast. The challenge I have been trying to overcome ever since My Keurig Machine arrived was to find affordable K-Cups that held their flavor and tasted like fresh brewed coffee. I don't have high hopes that a K-Cup will ever taste like something out of my french press, but I'm open the the possibility. I have ordered many different brands of Keurig Cups and Keurig compatible cups and have always been sorry I wasted my money. These cups change everything. The coffee is not stale; that's a first for me ordering K-Cups online. More then that, these Coffee Capsules make a great cup of coffee. The flavor is bold and complex (it being dark roast, it is what I would have hopped for), and the capsules seem to hold up over time. I drink a lot of coffee so a 48 pack lasts about a month, and the last cups in the box were as good as the first. Others have complained about the residue. First, they are advertised as being comparable to french press, so make sure you know what you're buying. A good cup of coffee should have some fine grounds in it. If you're not a serious coffee drinker, you might not like it, but a cup of coffee made in a french press always has grinds at the bottom, you are drinking coffee after all, god forbid you actually get some coffee in your cup. These cups stack up well against the best, and it's a great price for K-Cups that don't go stale. I'll give out five stars to a K-Cup when it tastes as good as french press, hopefully that day will come. Really my title sums up my opinion of this cup altogether. It does make a nice, heart large cup of dark roast coffee, and $25 for 48 cups as the preorder price was outstanding. At that price, I don't think I've ever really seen better, but at the same time the brew doesn't seem quite as bold or earthy tasting as a cup of Green Mountain Dark Magic or Emeril's Big Easy Bold. I prefer a robust large cup on almost every brew, and I've realized that even the Ice Brew K-Cups are basically the same thing; a cup of coffee with extra grounds for brewing a small amount stronger...so I brew iced coffee with my Extra Bold k-cups. I did the math on weight, and these weigh in at just under a cup of Dark Magic or Sumatran Reserve, but I'd still say my favorites (by taste,) are the brands I've listed above or Tully's Italian or French Roast, Caribou Obsidian, Starbucks Dark Sumatra, or even Barista Prima French and Italian Roasts. The only other thing I can note about these is that the construction of the pods is about perfect; I didn't find any grinds in the box leaving me to believe there were no leaking pods. Almost all the pods had a little air puffing the foil out; which I've noticed a lot of the Keurig brands have flat foils, anyways, so I'm not even sure if it matters that much, although I've had grinds brew through on some of the flat pods. The only other difference I can mention is the material of the foil top is different than Keurig brand pods; these are slightly harder and smoother (almost like a plastic or polymer,) but it doesn't seem to effect the brew process at all, and I didn't seem to get any grinds in my cup, so all in all it just doesn't matter to me. Still better than brewing through a regular coffee pot (even from fresh ground beans,) and I don't think I'll ever get tired of my Keurig coffee maker.

For me, Martinson Dark Roast K-cup Coffee is perfect for morning coffee. It's a great perk me up cup and the flavor is just the way I like it, strong but not bitter. These K-cups arrived with next day shipping with Prime which is great because I was just about out of coffee and the timing couldn't have been better!I enjoy the Martinson brand for its great quality and I will continue to try their coffees and pick out favorites. Their K-cups are well constructed and the coffee so far for me, has always been described accurately for their customers. This is a nice, strong Dark Roast comparable to French roast coffee which is exactly what I like in the morning. It is too strong if you need something lighter in the afternoon, but perfect for morning time!It's been a while since I first tried this coffee and I have reordered it many times since. For the cost, this is a very high quality coffee and I love the taste of all of the bold coffees Martinson offers.

Joe Martinson one of the original boutique Coffee Roasters in New York. Located his roaster in an exclusive area of upper Midtown Manhattan and timed his roasting schedules to flood the area with the scent of roasting beans early in the morning and late in the evening. Bagel and pastry owners credited this scent with increased morning sales and bought his beans. Steakhouses said their customers insisted on that brew for their after meal coffees and so a star was born. Great stuff.

This was the best Dark Roast Coffee purchased online - but, when I placed my order with other Keurig items .. thinking there were free shipping - there wasn't - and, costs in total exceeded my budget that I was hoping to get from my online order ... There are some decent tasting enough dark roast coffee at my local store with cheaper costs so I would be limited from ordering this only a few times a year. I do drink a lot of Keurig coffee

Very weak coffee (not enough content to properly brew an 8 oz cup) and for a dark roast completely bland. Maybe they change their technology but I can't figure out how previous posters can rave about how strong and tasty it is. I had Mother Parker's Bob Marley dark roasts before this and those were really satisfying. This though.... different league altogether

Great coffee for single cup machines good price for 40 of them will be buying again have a machine but prefer fresh ground I get from a friend in Costa Rico sometimes roasting takes too long so Mother Parker's pod are great very good pricing for very good coffee.

As with the french roast,martinson dark roast is strong.It has a deep flavor not bitter and taste like a high end pod.l recommed this coffee pod if u like your coffee strong smooth and flavorful.
