this unit works really great for me. I have a 1999 honda accord that sits in my yard for 2 months and battery is just dead and when I received this unit, I didn't even read the instructions just opened the box and plug it in put the positive (RED) first and the negative (BLACK) and turn it on like the symbol play button and you'll see a flashing symbol for motorcycle, car, winter car and so on so I selected the car and my battery shows 6.7 volts then waited on for 4 hours and is shows then at 12.8 and took it off unplug and starts the car just like that couldn't be more satisfied with this unit.

I am trying on two cars this winter. The item seems nice and was easy to connect. I will update in March to let you know if the cars start-up.

So far, it's working. For some reason, my car battery dies after about a week of no use. The display on this maintainer tells you the voltage reading on your car battery. The 3 settings, motor bike, auto, and lawnmower allows you to choose the amount of voltage to feed.

The Ampeak Car Battery Charger is well made and easy to use. The casing is very strong and weather resistant. It’s almost perfect, except it doesn’t come with quick connect Ring Terminals that would allow me to install the connectors permanently to the battery. The clamps are a bit finicky and would sometimes lose the connection, forcing me to reposition them. In the end, I ordered another Charger that had the quick connect Ring Terminals and am now a happier camper.

I bought this unit specifically because of its low current output. I was a certified solar energy professional and designed battery-based systems and got this to recondition batteries that have been overly discharged. Deep-cycle batteries are designed to be discharged to around 20% of their capacity but normal engine starting batteries are usually damaged when they discharge below 80%. HOWEVER, charging and discharging them several (or many) times will substantially restore the molecular balance and structures of lead and sulfur. I realize this charger is not advertised for reconditioning batteries. Nevertheless, it would do a wonderful job if it weren't for the over-intelligence it contains. It refuses to charge a battery that is deeply discharged. I was instructed on reconditioning batteries by an engineer at my solar electric company's battery manufacturer after I misprogrammed a charger and it didn't recharge the batteries, allowing them to discharge well beyond their design capacity. I know of no reason not to charge a battery just because it's below 4.5 volts and yet this unit has been programmed to do nothing if it sees a significantly discharged battery, even though it's perfect for the slow charging that allows for reconditioning.The unit I have also won't change charging modes. There's only one button and I've pressed it every way I can think of (quick press, long press, etc.). it just does what it wants to which is often a single mode or nothing at all.The manual looks nice, like it contains good information but is actually of very little help since the unit doesn't respond to attempts to change the mode as the manual says it should.I would not buy this charger again.

overall is working, but the clamp is weak and not copper. it will do the work, but not great.

Well I bought this charger for my tractor for winter time to keep the battery charged so when I have to use it to move snow and other things around the farm. Really nice I would recommend it for any one needing to keep their battery for to par...

Has no functions that allow you to do anything but plug it in and use preset charging process. According to the directions, it cannot be left on for long periods of time so using as a maintainer (which is the purpose I purchased it for) is not possible.
