DOES NOT WORK,
this unit does not work as designed, There is NO sense of security with this device, I was diligent in installing measures to prevent my pipe from freezing, but it was futile. I took a manual temp reading (17 deg) and this device never comes on, multiple tests with a Freon shot on the sensor achieve nothing!!n the heat coils never differ from the frozen pipe ( and yes it is powered up) its a rip off, save your money!!

Worked well to keep a fig tree from freezing over winter
I used this to keep a fig tree from freezing over winter. It worked very well. The built in thermostat worked perfectly and kept the branches warm on cold days.

It warmed too well and melted into my water main going to the house and now it is leaking.
