what does manually reverse mean? does it mean that you just turn it around in the window or does it have a switch?

In order to reverse the flow, you have to physically take out the fan and turn it around. What makes this "manually reversible" is that there are controls on both sides so that when you flip it around, you can still turn it to "High, Low, Off" otherwise after you turned it around there would not be a way to turn it on or off.

Has anyone measured the power drain with a wattmeter? How much power does this thing draw in wattage at LOW, MED, & HI settings?

Current model power drain is. 60 watts on low and 90 watts on high. And Holmes will confirm that is correct.

will it fit in a window that is 22" wide?

The manual says it fits from 22" to 33.25". You can get an extra 4.25" by purchasing an extra window fan extender panel from somewhere.

I have a different brand that gets scary-hot to the touch if it runs a long time. Does this one get very hot after many hours of use?

this one doesn't, and if you have another that does, you should discard it (or return it if you can). NO modern fan should get scary hot to the touch at any time in normal operation, your other unit is defective and likely poses a danger of fire.
