Robust, Doesn't Come Apart, Easy To Clean, Worth Spending A Little More
I bought this slightly more expensive stainless steel feeder as I had experience of cheaper plastic ones which become difficult to clean and put back together (the plastic splits or bends after extended use outside - and birds peck at the plastic, too). The cheap ones sometimes have a top that 'lift up' instead of screwing on (this Provide feeder does screw tightly together, top and bottom). The budget loose-lidded feeders are a disaster in Highland winds (which options either fall off the tree we use, or get emptied when Mother Nature gets blustery). What I wanted was a robust, wind and rain proof, easy to clean bird feeder - this ticks all those boxes.I clean and disinfect this Provide feeder every few weeks (though - me being away for a few months recently and my partner not bothering meant there was a layer of mould on the bottom waiting for me!). He got a stern telling off. If you're diligent about cleaning (you'll get to keep an eye on it if it you're filling it most days) it should be fine. Obviously cleanliness is important as it curbs the spread of disease and parasites.Nearly 9 months of use later, it still looks great and fits together as tightly as before - a few perches are a little blackened with the wild wet weather here but I can still unscrew and clean it as easily as when new. It's winter now, so I've added suet to help keep the birds warm and give them extra energy (the weather is mild so far, but in Scotland it can change in a day....)Recommended for those who require something hardier that won't get blown away or broken (buy cheap, buy thrice has been my experience with cheapie feeders!).The smaller birds love this feeder and I can hear them chirping, waiting in the bushes as I fill it each morning....(I sing 'It Always Feels Like Somebody's Watching Me'). For the bigger birds, we use a large wooden bird box at the side of the garden.

Happy Feast to Watch
This holder is so much more robust against squirrels!! Plastic ones in the past get gnawed/chewed around the feeding holes, eventually falling to pieces. It is stainless steel and rustproof, but that does not make it too heavy to handle with ease. It is enjoyable to watch the small birds feeding easily now. It looks very smart and is worth every penny; and I recommend it. No more cheap plastics holders. The leaflet enclosed was also very helpful, in identifying the different birds that come to my garden.

Quality and access for birds
The birds love it.Its easy to clean and fill. Cannot say if its rust resistant havent had it long enough to get rusty. The birds can sit and eat and there are enough holes for them. Have not seen any squirrels so I cant say if they can get to it or not. Overall good quality bird feeder.

Nice product but not perfect
This is basically a good bird feeder. It is great how easy it is to refill. It looks good and has a pleasing feel of quality. There is a bit of a problem with cleaning it. The base simply pushes into the plastic tube. It needs to be removed to clean it properly. However this weakens it's attachment to the tube. After a few removals, it will eventually simply not stay securely in place and may drop out in use. My solution is to add cable ties to keep it in place. But this shouldn't really be necessary!

Excellent, well designed product
I've had the feeder for a month and it's excellent. The materials are good quality, the top comes off so it's easy to fill with seeds. The bottom also comes off which makes it very easy to clean. A well designed product.

Decent feeder has proved itself desireable
EDIT 2: PROVIDE contacted me about improving their design. I was totally shocked that any Amazon seller might be that keen, but they were. Many discussions followed, and they proposed (and tested) a few variations, all intended to resolve the "loose connection" of the stainless steel inserts to the plastic tube that other customers have complained about. Then they sent me some prototypes to test. After 6 months, NONE of the revised designs have failed in any way. All remain "as good as new". And their final design choice will be even more robust.I have squirrels (red ones!) and pine martens climbing on these things, even "bouncing" them off the small branch they hang from. Despite falling 3 feet to the ground, none have even come undone, never mind broken.Furthermore, the stainless steel has proven top quality too, remaining bright and rust-free despite the bird poo all over the top. None of the quick-lock ends have ever detached unexpectedly, and the fastening to the plastic tube is now plenty robust, such that early unexpected detachment should simply never happen. These feeders are the most popular with the birds - mostly Goldfinches, Siskins, Great Tits and Chaffinches. I fill them all with sunflower hearts, but they always run out before the other alternative feeder at the main location. (The photos show a secondary location just to prove my squirrel claim). That bottom ring lets the chaffinches take part, instead of having to wait for the Goldfinches to discard seed to the ground for them to scavenge. Because the peg perches are a little too small and awkward for them otherwise. It is such a great idea it is worth buying just for this feature. For the price, these are BY FAR the best bird feeder you could buy. Stainless steel is durable, manufacturing quality is now top notch, and if you do have a problem, there is a 6 month replacement policy. The ring at the bottom allows larger birds like chaffinches (and even robins!) to get at the seed too. And if (like me) you get squirrels and pine martens climbing on them to feed, they won't break anything either.I have upgraded this from 3 stars to 5 stars, as I have been mightily impressed with the response of the seller, AND by the quality of the design and materials.Lastly, one of my pics is of a Goldfinch that got his head stuck. It was entirely my fault - I had not cleaned out the accumulating debris at the bottom. And my local birds are so keen for sunflower hearts, they will reach in to get at the very last scrap morsels in the bottom. The resulting "hardened powder gunge" formed a wedge that meant this poor bird could not get his head out. He was flapping wildly, but in vain.I put on some cotton gloves, gently held his wings and the tube, and slowly unscrewed the bottom closer. He was still stuck, but when I prised the gunge loose with one finger, he literally took off in mid air, no harm done. I was greatly relieved my own stupidity in not cleaning the feeder had not caused more harm. This is NOT a design fault. It was purely my failure to clean out the debris that caused the trap. Plus, my allowing the feeder to become so empty that this bird overextended to reach the last seeds. It has only happened once. The other reason for that pic, is that this was one of the revised prototypes. You can see the rivet fastening holding the bottom insert into the tube, instead of the original clinching method. I can attest that the plastic tube has to break, before that rivet will let go. Witness the squirrel and pine marten hanging from that ring, even "bouncing" the feeder off the branch. I have found it (intact) on the ground several times. But it didn't even open on landing, never mind break.(You don't need to read the rest, but I'll leave it here for posterity.)EDIT: I received a response from PROVIDE the day after my original review posted. They offered a full refund because they thought I wasn't happy. They reminded me the feeder is covered by a 6 month warranty, so if it disassembles as feared (and others have experienced) then they will replace it.I remain convinced that the small mod, adding screws or bolts to improve the two weak joints top and bottom of the plastic tube, will make this the best feeder I have ever used.Meanwhile, I actually broke a drill bit trying to get through the stainless steel. That means they've used top grade material, for it to be that hard. They have also promised a future design improvement, that fully resolves this problem. That's top class service, far above what I'd expect. Some reviewers have hammered this product with one star because "the bottom fell off".I have no doubt they are right. It is a shame, since the materials used and the design itself seems robust enough. But the way the metal ends are fastened to the plastic tube is brainless, building in a weak failure point that is only a matter of time before it lets go, long before the feeder is "end of life".I bought a stainless steel one anyway, because my feeders are supporting about 100 local birds (very rural, no other feeders near). Worse than Heathrow, as birds jostle for landing rights. Durability thus matters. And I figured I could deal with the weak joints before they fail. I have modified most of my feeders in some way or another. The metal parts are decently heavy gauge. BUT. Both the top cover and bottom perching ring are secured by a three-prong screw fit onto a matching metal insert. That insert is barely fixed to the plastic tube. There are three "cinch points" where the metal and plastic have been crimped together. It holds until it fails, and mileage will vary. But it is deeply unimpressive - my feeder shows barely 1mm of deformation of the metal, and the plastic is ready to slide off from the get go.The bottom ring is fairly heavy (and has all the seed above pushing down on it), so I cannot imagine that joining mechanism will last very long. Worse yet is that the top fastening carries all of that same weight, plus a bit more (the plastic tube and feeding perches).I bought one anyway, because I believe I can adapt it easily and effectively. I plan to drill two diametrally opposed holes at each end, through both the plastic tube and the metal insert. Then simply add a stainless steel screw (or possibly bolts - but I have screws available) into each hole to lock the insert and tube together far more robustly than the weak cinching it was originally made with. For even greater security, drill three fastenings each end - but two will be enough. The failures others describe are because the small deformation where the metal distorts against the plastic is very easy for the plastic to escape from - it only has to slide, because the dent in the metal is not large at all. However, with the mod, the plastic will not be able to tear past even the smallest metal screw (or bolt, if you prefer), forming a permanent joint that matches the durability of the rest of the feeder.I would say DO NOT invest in this feeder unless you are prepared to make this small modification. Drilling 4 holes and tapping in 4 small stainless screws is probably ten minutes work at most. The functionality of the feeder will not be affected in any way, and it will avoid the inevitable heartache of this feeder coming apart.Especially if you have squirrels and pine martens that raid the feeder - their weight will pull the weak joint apart instantly.I've given it three stars because the materials and build is very worthy. If they had chosen a decent jointing method between the metal inserts and plastic tube it would be 5 stars easily. It feels like one of the highest quality feeders I've ever seen. Except it will come apart quickly, unless you improve the weak joints.

Excellent,well designed, strong
Wow, this is a classy item, strongly made, I like the solid top, no cables running through to conduct damp to the seeds, easily dismantled for cleaning, no comparison with cheap feeders that crack or fall to pieces after a couple of months, this one looks set to be in use to some time. Only put it out yesterday and this morning it is in full use with birds at every port and on the circular perch,( which is another plus in design feature}.
