The Andy Griffith Show: Christmas Special
R**.
Return to those thrilling Black'n'White days of yesteryear... in LIVING color! I think all of the BLUE looks great!
MIGHT not be clear, but this is actually more than just one [Christmas]episode. It includes an episode about Aunt Bea's "kerosene" cucumbers. These two episodes from the infancy of the show---"Opie" is a 62-year-old man that has been married, now, for 42-years. He is a kid again... eachtime we see him in his MANY appearances on film... and behind the screenfor many, many, years.THIS series has, ALWAYS, lifted me UP... like my elevator boots when I suit-up,"colorize" myself for other's entertainment... here in my German farm near THEBaron's castle ruins. I can recommend this collection. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!A very good job of updating old classics for that young crowd that hate 2 letters:B&W!RED and BLUE are hard colors to render... and thin-hair. I should know: I'mBlue AND have thin-hair!Merry Christmas and Happy Halloween!Michael "-Big Mac-" McCluskeyThe Frankenstein Castle Ruins

Wonderful to See Early Andy Griffith Shows in Color
This is two of our Favorite shows of one of our favorite sitcoms. The color versions are interesting. We enjoyed the shows in color, but found the choice of colors very interesting. Lots of purples for clothes, and some unusual combinations of colors in clothing. Not the kind of colors the actors wore in the color seasons. Also, the wall paper at the house was different than in the color seasons. I didn't notice any comments about the authenticity of the colors from other reviewers. Maybe these colors gave the look they wanted in Black and White. Anyway, we still loved seeing these early shows in color.

I love The Andy Griffith Show but I am disappointed with this DVD. I enjoyed watching the colorized versions of the 2 episodes but when I buy a DVD of a TV show, I expect it to be uncut. This isn't. There were scenes left out. I can't pinpoint any in The Christmas Story but I did spot a couple in The Pickle Story when Barney stops a car to give the guy a jar of Aunt Bee's pickles. They leave out the part where Barney tells the guy he sees from his license plate that he's from Oregon and the guy responds, "That's right. Portland." Also, they don't show the epilogue where Andy and Barney find out Aunt Bee has gone from making homemade pickles to making homemade marmalade. I don't understand the reason behind cutting scenes on a DVD.

Hilarious!
Bought this to watch at Xmas. It's a great combo of episodes if you want some good wholesome laughs that you can watch with the family (young and old) at the holidays.

Not new episodes
I didn't read the 2 episode titles and assumed it was an actual Christmas separate episode. It's just 2 regular episodes already available if you have the series.
