Infinito Colors Pomegranate Medium Strength Keratin Treatment with Clarifying Shampoo 4oz by Smart Protection

This is my first time doing a keratin treatment at home. I’ve previously had japanese magic straight perm in the past as well. I have very curly and frizzy hair. This product worked great at toning down my curls and made it a whole lot easier to straighten my hair. This did not make it sleek straight. The first picture is my natural curly hair, then the pictures with the pink shirt is my hair AFTER washing out the keratin treatment days later and letting my hair air dry, the last picture is my hair straightened with low-heat after the keratin treatment. I will say it worked wonders! Like I barely spent 10 minutes making my hair look sleek and bouncy, I like to add a slight curl at the ends to make it bouncy.Now, I gave it a 3 star because I have been unknowingly exposed to 4% formaldehyde. Plus I could not apply the product myself since my eyes were burning so much, in addition I experienced bad discomfort in my throat and dizziness. I had to trust my boyfriend (who has never applied anything to hair before) help apply the product on my hair. Harmful formaldehyde gas is released when heat is applied, so I had unknowingly been exposed while blowdrying and straightening my hair to seal the treatment.I was a bit concerned why I was affected so much and that’s why it lead me to look at the ingredients of this product and I wish I had been warned, but I guess this is quite common for many hair products out there.(Citing OSHA.GOV)“If you work with hair products that contain formaldehyde, you can be exposed to the chemical by:Breathing it in through your nose and mouthGetting it on your skinGetting it in your eyes or mouthFormaldehyde is a known cancer-causing substance. Exposure to formaldehyde can also cause:Eye irritation and damage, including blindness.Nose irritation, including bloody noses.Skin sensitivity, rashes, and itching.Breathing difficulties, such as coughing and wheezing.Levels of formaldehyde above 0.1 ppm in the air can irritate your nose, throat, and lungs. These symptoms will get worse as formaldehyde levels go up.“

I have very dry, thick hair and rely on keratin treatements, heat tools, and good conditioner to keep my hair manageable. Sadly I do not have 5 hours to spare sitting at a hair salon, nor do I have $300 to splash out every few months on a keratin treatment. It's very easy to do at home, I clarify the night before, then apply the treatment the next morning (it takes me forever to blow dry my hair!), let it rest for 30 min, then apply heat products to kick in the treatment. It does sting your eyes, so use in a ventilated space! After I wash it out a few days later, my hair looks salon ready. I can't live without this product!

Product arrived timely using now. It has a very strong smell used two fans with windows open in large bathroom. Followed directions in description. I will follow up after first hair wash and then at 1 monthSome scalp tingling during treatment.It lasted a little more than a month so pretty good all in all I think it was a good buy!

Good quality. You will spend 3-4 times the price for the same treatment in a salon and get the same results.
