Excellent product! Installed in two hours. Highly recommend.
My wife and I just purchased a 55" TV and we really wanted to mount it in the family room, but the only space available was above the fire place, which was a major strain on our necks. After seeing 400-600 dollar options, we were very pleased to find something more affordable. I just installed the mount, and we are very, very pleased with the results.Installation took about two hours. Please note that when you unpack the mount, you should be able to get some play out of the pistons. Since I had read the reviews which said some of the bolts were over tightened and they couldn't adjust the height of the mount, I slightly loosened and tightened all of the bolts. Immediately the unmounted pistons gave me some play. Some have complained that you have to mount it slightly off center because the wall mount is only 18 inches wide. While it is somewhat narrow, the TV side of the mount has an extra 12-15 inches of movement, so you have more than enough adjustments to center this over a fireplace even if your studs aren't centered. I mounted the frame directly to the drywall (without a plywood piece) and see no issues with damaging the wall because it's very smooth to pull or push up the TV.BE AWARE -- the spring pressure adjustment was initially stuck (so both the bolts mentioned above, and the actual spring pressure adjustment needed to be loosened and retightened). When I say it was initially stuck, I mean that you could pull the TV down, but it wouldn't float in place. Instead it would retreat back to the upright position. After loosening the spring pressure bolts slightly and hitting the bolt with the included hexagon wrench, I was able to adjust the tension and float the TV.I also purchased universal sound bar brackets and installed a sound bar. I again needed to adjust the tension, but with the help of my wife holding up the TV, I was able to easily access the tension bolt.OVERALL we are EXTREMELY pleased with the purchase and highly recommend the product. Plus, you'l save hundreds of dollars vs the other like stands on amazon. THANK YOU Aeon!!!!P.S. I visited www dot av-express dot com to double check the specs and they offer a 10% discount for signing up for their mailing list. They also ship same day, 2-day ground, so I was able to order Sunday and receive Wednesday (from Ohio, to North Carolina).Let me know if you have any questions!

This mount is perfect for what we wanted to do and at a great price! We needed to mount our TV over a stone fireplace with a really high mantle. I am very peculiar about liking to watch TV around eye level and not like I am at the local sports bar looking at the ceiling. I read many reviews and will add to the info available. First off mounting directly into the stone did not seem feasible. As you can see in the pictures, I opted to paint 2 2×6 braces that I anchored into the stone. I then used lag bolts to secure the TV mount to the braces. This mount is very very solid. The specs say 65" TV max and 70lb limit. We mounted a Sony 75" TV weighing 72lbs and it is more than made for it. Unlike some reviews, I had to actually reduce the gas shock setting to get the TV to come down all the way. I think this mount can easily hold more weight. We will rarely, if ever put it in the up position. An unexpected benefit is how the TV is a few feet away from the fireplace and looks suspended in mid-air. Very cool and we absolutely LOVE the viewing and how the TV is now a showcase piece in our living room. Our guests kinda freak out at how cool it is and how they have never seen anything like it. I highly recommend this mount. Here are a few tips. Plan on extra hardware. I made many trips to Lowes and by trial and error found the right lag bolts and anchors for the rock fireplace. Also some reviews say the tilt will not hold right. This is true. The wieght of the TV shifts it to the max tilt angle. This was an easy fix. I put a shim between the TV and mount. I can set it at any angle with the right shim. This made more sense than trying to crank down on the screws that obviously will not hold the TV at the right flush angle. The most important thing I can suggest as others have is take time to really plan how you want it mounted and what you are expecting when you are done. It took me several hours but I am very pleased with the results.Hope this helps, if you have a little assess your situation/needs/wants and do it yourself in you - the mount is definitely a winner!

Best Over The Fireplace Mount
I was hesitant about buying a tv mount for above the fireplace because of all the internet naysayers telling you how complicated it can be and how it will not look right. PROVED THEM WRONG! This product is great and so easy to install. The instructions are very self explanatory but the company also has a video online that you can find to help walk you through the process. Give yourself some time to watch it beforehand and you’ll save some frustrations later with little things. Do the right thing before purchasing as measure your tv, mantle and check the tv weight before purchasing. This mount only supports a specific range of weight amd sizes, so too heavy or too big and it won’t work. The install was easy. The balancing took awhile but only because it is you standing behind the tv with not much room to move. Give yourself a spare inch or two if you can when you hang it to allow yourself to use a socket wrench for adjustments. Otherwise your hands will be cramped and you’ll wanna throw this thing through a wall. All hardware is included and do not do any of this with a drill. The company is 100% right that you will over tighten the bolts if you use a drill or impact driver so take the time and do it by hand.
