Fun game!
I read the reviews of this game on Amazon, and I bought it thinking it looked like a kid's game. Boy was I wrong. I'm almost 30, and this game is SERIOUSLY addicting. It's a turn-based strategy game that's based on capturing cities and factories and building military units and fighting enemies. It's not very violent graphically, and the music is catchy at first (but annoying after listening to the same thing over several hours), and the strategy is intense. There are air units, infantry, tracked ground vehicles, and wheeled vehicles. Different terrain affects movement speed (depending on unit type) and can restrict vehicle movement. Also, there are different commanding officers to choose from to use with different special abilities and strengths and weaknesses, and the enemy CO is the same way. There is a lot to this game, and for anyone who enjoys strategy games, this one is definitely addictive, even if the animations look a bit cartoony, and the stroyline may come off as a bit childish. Nevertheless, this game is insanely fun.

Love it
My brother who is 13 really likes the advance wars series, he has just about every advance wars out but insisted he needed this one to complete his colection. Overall from what I can tell this advance wars seemed to be identical in terms of how you fight to other advance wars games (With the exeption of less featrues since this is the first advance wars made)Overall he likes the game and plays every advance wars he owns. If you never played advance wars I think it is a good buy if you are into strategry games. The game is move based meaning you take turns. Up to 4 players. You can choose between a good amount of characters each having their own special power ups and own special abilities that they are unique in. For example some characters may fight better with tanks, some chracters may fight better with infintary, I won't spoil the specials. The matches do take sort of long but in a way thats good because you won't get bored, the best thing about this game is that you can play 4 players with friends and see who really has the smarter brain/tactics to out play each other. There are more things about this game which I won't spoil if you must look it up on youtube to see how the game works. I grew up playing many games on every system imaginable that I could get my hands on other than the old pokemon games that everyone used to play back in the day this game is a must get if you are into strategry/war games.

advaced wars good, bad or soso?
advanced wars is definetly about multiplayer. One reason is there are two practialy impossible levels which eventualy stops you from playing 1player (you try beating the last level without giving up!) I know this might stun a few gamers but I don't think this game is worth 40 or 50 dollars maby not even 20 or 30! the rest of this game is good (graphics, gameplay, etc.)Sorry but this just isn't one of my favorite games.

Fantastic Game! Not so great cartridge.
This was one of the very first games that I truly set out to beat years and years ago. Unfortunately the cartridge is a tiny bit worn, which doesn't bother me, but it seems to be covered in a fine, sticky film that refused to come off hands. I just thank goodness that once I put a game in, I beat it before I take it out! (This is why I won't ask for a return and such.)

An amazing Strategy game, cartoon graphics + great gameplay
I was in disbelief of how good this game could actually be from the screen shots. Both the action and graphics are like a cartoon (Japan made it why not?), and second an entire battle is held in one single screen. Each of these things make it perfect for all ages, this is a strategy much like Chess with a twist of Final Fantasy to keep your interest. You are the general of the orange army defending in several battles against the blue army. You being the general means that you have a strategy in your mind and you order the troops what to do, and you watch the fighting, not control the fighting. The game has a very diverse assortment of infantry, tanks, ships, helicopters, planes anti-aircraft artillery and troop transporters (by land, air and sea). The game starts and you must undergo an interesting, informative and fun tutorial that lets you play as it teaches you, before the game really lets you play, with several modes, a campaign which is the game itself, war room, which has war games to see how high you score, verses mode to take on your friends, and even a design mode to design your own map and battle! The game is incredible for young and old, with great variety to keep people playing forever.

THE BEST GBA GAME YET!!
Mario will always be my favorite plumber, but this game is by far the most intense, addicting and challenging game yet for the GBA. I had real reservations about buying this game at first. The graphics and animation looked cool, but that's usually as far as it goes for me and the game ends up ... big-time. But, I thought I'd give it a chance as I heard it has been real big in Japan for the last decade. Plus it was only 30 bucks! ANYWAY, after playing it for I can't even fathom how many hours, I finished the campaign, but there is sooo much more to play and to have fun with. Even more challenging missions follow, and even more after that and so on. Is there no end??? It's the most addicting game I have ever played on any platform, and just ask my wife how much I play video games if you don't believe me. Yeah that's right... I'm married with a kid and I still play video games a lot... got a problem???
