Very Impressed
I'm very impressed with the BD Veritor tests. They are extremely well thought-out and have an excellent app (run from your smart phone) that guides you through everything step-by-step. Not only does it guide you, but it actually facilitates and monitors the testing process. For example, it won't let you proceed unless you are going to do your test on a surface with proper lighting. It also keeps track of time and won't reveal the results until the proper amount of time has past for the sample to be process-able.By the way, I ran mine on a iphone 11 pro. Certainly not the newest or most expensive phone, but it was sufficient to run this test.A lot of people complain about it not working with their smartphone. True, it doesn't work with every phone. So here's what I recommend that you do to avoid surprises... Go to your phone's app store, and look for the "scanwell" app (that's what it's called at least for now, as I guess BD Veritor bought Scanwell, perhaps in the future it will be called BD Veritor, but anyway...). Download it, and run it. It will tell you right there if your phone is gonna work or not.Anyway, I'm impressed by it, and I'm going to stock up on these tests.Oh, and for those complaining about privacy issues... of *course* they should collect and report that data. How do you think the CDC knows how the battle against covid is going? Any responsible person should report a positive result. Sheesh.

Easy to use, great for Testing at Home!
This BD Veritor at-home Covid test was very easy to use. I used the QR code in the box to get the software on my iPhone 12 (also has instructions to download manually from the App Store if you're not familiar with QR codes). The software provides helpful step-by-step instructions with video for each step to guide you along the way. I had no trouble following along and it was a nice touch for the app to notify when the test results were ready. I also appreciated the clear "POSITIVE" or "NEGATIVE" test result message, leaving no confusion at all.I've previously used the BinaxNOW traditional test (uses a test strip similar to a pregnancy test). Comparing the two, I would recommend this BD Veritor test if you are the nervous type who can be overwhelmed with instructions because of the BD Veritor's guided step-by-step process with video. My only small criticism of the BD Veritor test is that there is a required sign-up process by which you have to input your name, email, and address before starting the test. It would be faster to get started if there was an "anonymous test" mode, but it wasn't a big deal to me. Other than that, this was an easy and convenient option for at-home Covid testing!

This test deserves a special place in hell
This test is quite literally the worst home Covid test kit I could possibly imagine. Don't buy it!We liked the idea of having results delivered electronically so we could easily share them with our kids school and daycare providers. A good concept, but riddled with issues that make it entirely useless.A few reasons why:(1) You must download and sign up for an app just to get your test results. There is no instruction for "reading" the tests manually, nor are there instructions for how to administer the tests. You have to follow along with the app EVERY SINGLE TIME. No fast forward, no skipping. Slow and steady. My eyes are still burning.(2) In the app, you must must watch the same videos every single time you use the test. If you're like me and have multiple kids/adults to test, you have to watch about 10 minutes of videos every time you administer the test, and the videos are "part" of the process so you can't skip over them. If you try to log out of the app to skip the videos, it renders that test "already used" and won't give you a result, so you have to call BD and get on the phone with a rep to get your test to work again (which in light of all the other problems here probably would have taken up yet another hour of my day). I didn't make that call - I would rather have someone hit my hand with a hammer repeatedly than watch these ridiculous instruction videos again.(3) You can't run multiple tests at the same time. When you've got 4 kids to test and you can't run them in parallel, you have to watch 5-10 minutes of videos and then wait 15 minutes for each test, you've now wasted nearly 2 hours of your life on Covid testing. Doing the same thing with our old test kits we tested all 4 kids and were done in 20 minutes. I really didn't need to be told how to hold down your struggling child and get them to zone out to a video for the 4th time when none of our kids mind the nasal swabs. But this test somehow felt that was such important information I should watch it 4 times in the span of 2 hours anyway.(4) The tests were inaccurate. If you don't have perfect lighting (and our house is incredibly well lit, so maybe you also have to buy a special light table to help read results?) the results come back inaccurate. 2 of the tests came back positive and when we re-ran them with other home kits that we trust and they were both clearly negative. So all of this and the tests weren't even accurate!(5) The defining feature of this test is the ability to send results electronically. But what they don't tell you is that you can't send them to just anybody. You have to have an "Organization ID" and "Individual ID" as part of a testing program to use this feature. You can't just send it via secure email like any self-respecting app would do. So the defining feature in our case was entirely useless.Save yourself the time and money and buy a regular test kit. This one is the WORST.
