Together they provide much faster internet that the wifi signal was providing. Plug and play. No issues. We are very happy.

It's quite frustrating in 2026 that even higher end TVs still use 100 mb ethernet ports. Sure, you can use wifi and that will generally be quite a bit faster, but there are always stability and latency issues with wifi. This give the option of adding a gigabit ethernet connection with absolutely minimal effort. I used this on a TCL QM8K so I could properly stream high bit rate remux via plex and it works perfectly. Setup is literally as simple as possible, just plug the adapter in and then connect the ethernet cable, nothing else required to get it working.

I use this TP-Link USB-Ethernet by connecting it to my 15-foot Amazon Basics Cat-6 Ethernet cable. My Steam game downloads are normally a lot faster when using this connection and I’ve had decent streaming quality when playing games such as Skyrim VR on my Meta Quest 3s through Steam Link on my PC. It’s also convenient and doesn’t wear out your laptop’s Ethernet port as much.

So, I converted an older MacBook air to Linux. Older apple won't take any new stuff anyhow. A recent update caused problems with the environment I was using, so switched to another. Afterwards It would not take find the wifi hardware, much less any signal. I tried everything but between proprietary drivers etc, I was dead without a hard connection. Linux mint picked this up and set it up in like 10 seconds. It picked up my wifi update immediately. Most other adapters do not mention Linux compatible, but this one did and works exactly as I would have hoped. I'm very happy with it. Very compact, easy install, nice. An easy purchase decision.

Works great for old tech, especially pre wifi labtops and as a backup for a bad NIC card. Works in any USBaljconnection no need for a driver just direct ethernet connection. I highly recommend every tech have these as a backup for when the wireless goes down.Also great for installing software for older laptops and if you live in the burbs where wireless has yet to reach makes for a great connection tool for laptops or connecting to a hard line network. It also has the ability to fold up when done so you can make it travel portably. Genial, adquirí una compu que no tiene puerto para este tipo de cable pero este USB solucionó mi problema, pude conectar por cable directamente al modem y la velocidad se incremento por mucho a la que se recibía solo por conexión inalambrica.
