DO NOT BUY!
Shocking! Ordered Sharpes company and when I've come to reading it, I open the book and find inside a completely different book!! Despite Sharpes company printed on outside and the right blurb on the back, inside is Inspector French and the Crime at Guildford! Not quite sure how they can mess up so much but the worst part is trying to return it and get the correct one, and it's impossible to do so!

Once Bitten, forever smitten
Bernard Cornwell is, in my opinion [for whatever that is worth] the best historical author currently working in the world of narrative fiction; based upon real-life historical events. He pulls no punches in respect to the often extremely violent reality of life during the wide ranging periods of human history he has covered. The net result is an authentic and often contemporary feel, featuring a cast of flawed characters that the modern day reader can identify with [in some cases], and entertained by until it becomes quite addictive.

Exciting account of 2 great sieges
In the winter of 1812 Wellington is set on capturing the 2 great fortress-cities that guard the border between Portugal and Spain. The novel begins with the siege of Ciudad Rodrigo and ends with the siege of Badajoz, and in themselves these provide plenty of action and battle-scenes for the British Peninsular army and Sharpe, but inbetween Sharpe also risks losing the command of his company, and finds himself confronted with his arch-enemy Sergeant Hakeswill again...In a nutshell: another great addition to the series, with Sharpe and his trusted companion Harper in the thick of action!
