Great Bazaar Swad Samosa Snacks, 10 Ounce

These are NOT samosas like what you get in an Indian restaurant - no potatoes, no peas. They are about golf ball size (maybe a bit smaller), the ingredients I remember being inside are cashew paste, some other nut paste, mango paste, raisins and a *lot* of spices. They are dry chewy/hard, not soft. So adjust your expectations in terms of the filling. These are a snack not an appetizer. The only other thing I would warn you about is to look at the serving size *before* eating a handful of them. I'm not saying the five I ate before checking totaled five servings on anything like that... Oh, they also don't need to be refrigerated after opening (or before for that matter) in case like me you were worried about that. Overall, these are AMAZING and deserve the 5 stars IF you know what to expect (I did not, but was pleased with the differences). Delicious spicy snack that does not taste in any way like a pea and potato samosa. The only commonality is the wrapper.

I ordered 2 bags because of the reviews. Thought it would be delicious. The flavor was good, but the texture was not like any samosa I have ever had. I expected the inside to be soft, but it was as hard as a Lorna Doone cookie. This samosa would be better dunked in tea than eaten with yogurt. I'll never order again.

I found these in a small Indian restaurant / convenience store on the freeway in the middle of nowhere Nebraska. The SWAD brand is high quality and all of their packaged snacks are DELICIOUS! Definitely not a health food, and they are a bit dry or crumbly, but so good that I will tip the bag into my mouth to eat every last bite. These are wonderful! Try the Dry Katchori too, might be my favorites. These have a little much for the ‘breading’ and it’d be nice if they weren’t so thick, but still great all the same. Filling is very flavorful!
