Rinnai103000038 Scale Cutter Water Conditioning System

I just installed but wanted to let others know about a design issue. The 3/4" plastic female pipe threads are not tapered properly and subject to easily cross-threading when installing short fittings. I recommend installing\removing a minimum length 8" piece of pipe squarely to establish and open the thread path prior to installing the shorter fittings as applicable. If not you'll cross thread the plastic because you can't hold the short fitting square when installing.It's going to be some time before I can report how effective this filter is. I'll report back later.

Great product! Actually makes a significant difference in scale build up. Customer service is great. One piece of advice—use two tight wraps of Teflon tape AND a thin coating of pipe dope. Lubrication from the dope helps prevent cross threading of composite plastic filter head.

Received the the main unit. No wrench, paperwork, nor mounting bracket. Found the pdf of the paperwork from another site. Unit should come with all listed.

Requires plumber installation at main water pipe.

Seems to work well and being an inline product it looks like it will be easy to service when required.
