It brews a hot, delicious first cup of coffee and doesn’t take too long. We love it.
Makes an outstanding cup of coffee in minutes and without any mess or fuss. (Our Cuisinart was just a mess.)This Kenmore is so easy and mess-free, I set it up with coffee and water the day before, push one button to set the programmed time (3 a m in our house). Voila! Hot delicious coffee when we want it. I L O VE THIS MACHINE.Easy enough set up too.Programming the clock and timer are super easy. A tiny light comes on and even shows the programmed time. I like that a lot.We like strong coffee but have found this machine makes fantastic coffee without the need for utilizing the Bold option.(The 1-4 Cup/Bold option can be confusing. They should be separate buttons but they are not. We don’t need or use them anyway.)The coffee does not taste as good using the permanent filter as it does with paper filters. I buy the large Bunn filters on Amazon. The coffee maker works fairly quickly and you can steal a cup during brewing, but make haste.I love this carafe because it doesnt dribble; it has a clean fast pour. But because it is glass, the delicious coffee gets stale fast on the warmer. That first cup is really fantastic. Seattles Best Medium Roast is our choice for this machine, or Starbuck’s Pike’s Place medium roast…We even do half and half. What I like best is that the coffee is hot. What I like least is how fast it gets that burn-smell in the glass carafe, about the time it takes to drink that first delicious cup. I suggest if you drink more than one cup, pour the second right away, into a Yeti cup, or stainless carafe.I do not like how difficult it is to read the buttons. Tiny writing infuriates me. It isn’t even in bold lettering. But we only use the On/Off button now.Bottom line when all is said and done, this Kenmore works, it isn’t messy, and the coffee is so good every time.Update: makes such good coffee, we decided to order a stainless carafe to pour it into once the coffee is brewed. I have come back to give this coffee maker a fifth star.

Beautiful and well made - but very loud audible sounder upon brew completion!
Looks great on the counter in my white kitchen and makes great coffee. I love the #4 cone filters this unit uses rather than the pleated basket filters typically found on 12 cup coffee makers. Be warned however, that when it is done brewing the coffee it sounds off with an extremely loud notifier. Late sleepers in the house may find this annoying, my wife certainly did. The horn is through hole soldered onto a circuit board behind the top brushed aluminum trim, same circuit board as the buttons and display. It easy enough to dissemble to access the board to de-solder and remove the horn. I didn't need the horn since I can tell the coffee is ready by looking at the clear glass carafe.

It has a few design flaws, but--most important-- it makes very good coffee
Background: my old top-rated coffee maker finally died and I had to replace it. Tried a top-rated and spendy Cuisinart first-- good ergonomics, mediocre coffee (bland and bodiless). Next went to the "best buy" rated Black & Decker-- a litter better but the same thing. Decided to take a chance on this one before just using pour-over on weekdays too, which is less convenient.Everyone is right about the two main flaws in this Kenwood. It is very difficult to fill because of the way the openings are situated plus the design of the carafe. Snap-off the carafe's lid and it's easier, or you can use a large measuring cup instead. It's clumsy but manageable. And, the "coffee ready" beep is REALLY loud. I can hear it halfway across the house. First morning my wife thought a smoke detector was running low when she heard it. We shut the bedroom door when we use it. I wish it had a disable switch. All that aside, this thing makes very good coffee! Which, when you think of it, is its primary function. And it's right between the low-end $30ish range and the start of the pricey ones at $80-100. Plus, the white looks great in our kitchen. This one is a keeper, flaws and all. This would have been a five-star review for flavor and value if not for the two issues mentioned

good value
Sleek, simple, modern elegance. Works well with just enough program ability to brew good coffee! I would recommend this coffee maker.

Excellent coffee maker
This is the best coffee maker we've bought in ages. The carafe does not drip at all when you pour - a huge plus! I love that it comes with a reusable filter - no more paper filters. It's solidly built and feels like a quality machine when using it. The bottom has rubber feet to prevent it from slipping, which is a little annoying because we have to slide it out from under the counter to fill it every day. This means we have to pick it up instead of slide. But it's not enough of a drawback to dissuade me from recommending it.We loved it so much that, when we thought it broke after 3 months we ordered the same exact one thinking we must have gotten a lemon... only to find out that once we got the new one all set up, it was our outlet that was broken, not the machine. So now we have two of them and don't regret the extra purchase at all.

Kenmore 12 cup coffeemaker with auto shut off
Thought I had well read the description for the Kenmore coffee maker, what happenedwas totally unexpected. Although it was expensive, I took a chance on purchasing it. The first try using it, a reminder alarm sounded way too loud when it finished brewing. I learned there was no way to disconnect it. It was so loud and piercing that it startled me. I had mainly needed a coffee maker with a shut off feature. But this was totally unexpected, and unexplained in the Manuel, other than reset to hear this awful noise each time it's used. This isn't over, as I try to find a solution to this issue . If you like this type of noise each morning just to make a cup of coffee then this is for you.
