An excellent understanding of the Osage in Missouri and their struggle with Europeans
The Osage do not get a lot of press when more prominent tribes such as the Sioux and Apache get the in the westerns but the Osage were the gate keepers to the west and all of the European conquerors had to deal with. And lastly, how the new American government figured out how to manage the tribe and ensure peace in the region.

Great Book
I thoroughly enjoyed reading about my Osage tribe's history in Missouri, as well as the American history in the area. The author is well-researched. The first chapter was a little challenging for me (slow), but after that, I sailed through the book.

Interesting and Easy to Read
This was a good book about the Osage Nation in Missouri but not great. Very little about customs and culture and more about dealings with white Americans, treaties, and removal. An interesting read but not al lot of detail about life before EuroAmerican contact and local flora and fauna that shaped their lives.
