Very small
They are no where near the size that they show in the picture. They put them in something like sawdust or shavings, but it’s put near impossible to separate them from that material. Very frustrating and time consuming having to pick them out one by one because I don’t want my beardie to be consuming whatever they packaged them in.

Organically grown! Alive, healthy, and my ducks love them!
The media could not be loaded. The larvae were in great shape! A couple of hints that might help someone else:Though the larvae were mostly off-white or light grey when they arrived, as the weeks passed of course many of them began to darken. But, in fact, as it turns out, they were still alive and healthy and my duck still loved them. I am new to BSFL, but I read that I should rinse them off in warm water before giving them to my duck. At first I wasn’t sure if some of the black ones were still alive, but after rinsing them, they all became quite active. So, I think that they may be slowing down as they prepare to change form, but that is one way you can verify that they are still alive.(I rinsed them in a bowl of warm water, removed them quickly, so as not to drown them, right before giving them to my duck every day.)My duck, who is a picky little sucker, loved them!Second hint: Though they say you don’t have to feed them, I wanted them to be healthy for as long as it took to feed them all to my duck, and also to be as nutritious as possible. Plus, though I’m pretty sure I’ll get branded as weird for this, I figure they are living creatures, and I may as well treat them well until the end. So, I fed them things like butternut squash and plums, and changed out the substrate frequently, with wheat bran and oats. I’m still figuring it out, but at least I can say that my first batch arrived healthy and stayed healthy until the very end...Happy duck, happy me!(In lieu of larva photos, I chose to share my happy duck. After all, who doesn’t get a smile from seeing a happy duck?)Update 02/10/22: Still good, but different. I got four packs this time, (approx 2,000 total), because I am going to start a BSFL bin, and I wanted to give it a strong start. Anyway, this time they are a lot smaller/younger than before, which is *perfect* for my current purposes. And, the substrate is a bit less, and a bit drier. All of which is fine. Just different. They are really healthy, and I’m happy with them. But if I was going to feed them to my ducks right away, I’d prefer to feed them and let them grow for a while, first. Looking at other reviews, I wonder if maybe when the company shipped them bigger/more mature, like they did for my past orders, that resulted in more of them turning dark sooner, and people complaining because of not knowing they were actually fine.In any event, they look good, and I’m happy with the product. And, they are organically grown! Originally, I referenced another company which is not feeding organic and would not reveal what their BSFL have been fed, in my review. For comparison. Must have violated a policy or something, b/c that whole part got edited out. At any rate — I think it’s important to think about this invisible but oh-so-essential difference; who knows what the heck those other BSFL have been eating? All we know is that whatever they’ve been eating, will essentially be passed along to our animals. This company is up front and center with the answer to that question, and it’s the right answer, nutritionally speaking.I’ve attached a video of how big they got after about a week of feeding them up, though they arrived quite small. And a photo a couple of weeks later, as they were just starting to get a little darker. Now, they’re basically mostly black, and have crawled out into the pupation bins set up for that purpose. At all stages, they have been great food for my ducks.04/04 Taking this unique opportunity (starting my first BSFL bin, using these larvae to start with and learn from), to share with the community.Today, just adding a little video, showing how much they grow in just two weeks. In the video, you’ll see the admittedly small (but healthy) new ones, next to those which were exactly that size, two weeks ago. And a few darker ones which are perfectly healthy, but done eating and getting ready to climb up the ramp into the hatchery bins. Not dead!!

The first lot we got were all dead. The ...
The first lot we got were all dead. The seller sent us a new batch. But they matured very quickly. Started turning black and hard quick. They were also MUCH smaller than I had anticipated them to be. Even smaller than the wax worms. This was the first time we purchased them at all so maybe that's how it's supposed to be. I'm not sure. But our beardie wouldn't eat them so they ended up being tossed.

Great size and a better option than crickets
I have bought Black Soldier Fly Larvae from other sellers but they do not compare to these. The ones from this seller seem to be very well fed, are a very good size, are very active, and there's a bunch of them. Perfect staple meal for my bearded dragon. This is a great food alternative for those who don't want to deal with smelly and always-escaping crickets.

These are not large as advertised
Probably the tiniest bsfl I have ever seen even though they are advertised as "large", will not purchase again.

All arrived alive
They were delivered on time with a heat package. Seemed to all be alive. After considering it for awhile my bearded dragon ate one. At least half of these were small. Maybe I can grow them bigger? I am reasonably happy with the order
