Love it! Only one suggestion!
I LOVE this book! As others have stated, this is not a guide that teaches you lettering, it is just a practice pad, so keep that in mind when purchasing.I bought this to supplement an instructional book I already had. That book came with some pages for practice but I got a little anxiety using the practice pages because there weren't a ton of them and I wanted to be able to refer back to my instruction book as I develop my style without all my beginners "oops" moments all over it. Also, I apparently need a lot of practice (LOL, I'm trying so hard!), so I got the Calligraphy and Hand Lettering Notepad to help. This purchase was and continues to be well worth it! I am so happy I have it. I'll try to keep this short, but here's why I love this and recommend it to anyone learning lettering:1. There are a ton of pages, so if you screw up a couple of lines or even a couple of pages, who cares? There are plenty more!2. There are three sections: angled lines, straight lines, and a dot matrix. The angled lines are what I need right now because I need consistency of my angles from side to side of my letters. The dot matrix has been good for when I've worked on "bouncing" my letters because it helps make sure my bounce doesn't get too out of control. I'll try the straight lines section when I get better at my angles. This part would be great for practicing other styles of lettering, too!3. No paper will ever be completely opaque unless it's cardstock, but the paper in this book is of great quality. I have been practicing with a Tombow Fudenosuke hard tip brush pen and I am easily able to use both sides of the sheets. There is little to no bleed through. I can see what I did on the opposite side, but it isn't distracting to the point where it is unusable. I have not tried watercolor or brush markers on this paper but I don't think it would hold up well if it was used heavily with a lot of water. Regular brush pen use would probably be fine, but I can't see it doing well with heavy blending or spraying.4. I really like the cover of this book. It is really sturdy which makes it easy for me to put it in my bag and practice on the go!The ONLY suggestion I have is that I would like to see the book be spiral bound instead of having a regular binding. A spiral binding would make writing on both side of the paper much easier for both right and left handed users. It's not impossible to use it the way it is, but it would be really nice to see that change in a future printing.Overall, 5 stars. This is really helpful if you're looking for a practice pad. I'll buy it again in a heartbeat if the binding is changed whether I need a new one or not!

Really helpful
What I loved about this book is that itโs not just lined paper. It shows you what to practice on each line. I also like that it has more than one font to practice. There is nothing about this workbook that I donโt like. It even has a link to free printables.

For trying out/ new hobby! 4 stars for price.
The ink bleed through to the other side. However for learning purposes not that big of a deal. It also only has limited learned space for practicing but for the price it would be good for people to try. This would let customers at least see if they enjoy it. As real calligraphy pens and paper are higher priced items. Giving 4 stars for creativity and learning purposes.

Great practice book
I got this book as a Christmas gift and have really enjoyed it. It's perfect for anyone trying to learn calligraphy or who just enjoys expressing themselves creatively. The book teaches you how to draw each letter and gives plenty of space to practice. I would highly recommend.

Not even worth ยฃ4.99
If I am honest. I would have rather have spent the ยฃ4.99 on a square dotted book. There's nothing in here that is remotely close to calligraphy (not that I expected a detailed calligraphy book it just annoys me that the word is on the cover). There's only a few number of very similar styles to choose. No info about pens, posture, or anything. Just lines and sub standard styles to try.I wasn't expecting much to be honest, but this was quite a poor effort. If you are serious about learning either hand lettering or calligraphy, you're better off without this.

Dreadful paper when used with pen and ink
The idea is that you have a page with a character and space to copy them, out multiple times. useful for practice when learning. As a previous comment says, not really an instruction book at all.I've just tried this notebook out and it's like writing on blotting paper. The image shows three lines, J is using Jacksons Indian Ink, C is AMI Chinese ink, and H is Higgins Calligraphy ink.All three are poor, The Jacksons is best but not by much. The nib used is a Zebra Comic PG-6B-C-KEven the letters J C H , these were with standard Parker Quink + duofold have soaked into the paper making the lines smear.Good quality laser printer 90 gsm + / copier paper is far superior for practiceThe paper is fine when used with a fibre pen such as the Nachfullbarer Schwarzer types, there is almost no bleed, so it's the liquid ink that the paper does not like.

Thin paper.
I like the idea of this but sadly the paper is too thin. Better off getting an artist sketch book and drawing lines in yourself.

Many different styles of writing.
This book is exactly what I was looking for. My daughter loves writing in different styles and this teaches her the correct way to write in different calligraphy styles. Plenty of space in the book to practice.

A waste of money
The paper isn't thick enough and the ink leaks through the page and bleeds. A waste of money. Very disappointed.
