Team Rocket to the Rescue! (Pokémon Kalos: Scholastic Reader, Level 2)

I purchased it for my classroom library. My students really like this book. My students are between 7-8 years old. It's motivating my students who don't like reading to read. There are stickers on the back and I let them choose one to keep when they finish reading to book. When the stickers are gone it'll probably be time to order a replacement as it is a soft cover book.

This book is frustrating to read aloud for a number of reasons. First of all, there’s essentially no logical plot; I kept checking the page numbers thinking that someone must have ripped out pages from the book. Second, there’s no “moral” to a story when Pokémon promotes the equivalent of dog fighting. Finally, these names are literally gibberish so what’s the point of reading these ridiculous names to my kids?

My little brother constantly struggles with his reading, he is in the third grade and he dispised reading. It seemed like almost any book I bought him he would refuse to even TRY to read. When I saw this book I had a good feeling about it though. The second he found out I ordered a book about Pokemon he was exstatic! I had never seen him so happy about reading. He absolutely loves the book and I believe it has changed his perspective on books as a whole.

My 7 year old had no problem reading this and the story was very captivating. I even enjoyed this read! I'm very happy with this book and the series.

My son loves Pokémon and these books are great. I’ve bought multiple different ones and we read them almost every night
