Best Shop Vac hands down
This shop vac is rather expensive and doesn't come with tools like extensions or nozzles. Its billed as a dust extractor for tools. However the quality is really good.It has HEPA filters and can take a bag. Power is adjustable with an analog dial. Also comes with an automatic turn on mode for corded tools like sanders and saws. You plug the tool in and set it to auto. Then it will turn on when you click the trigger on the tool.It comes with a hose that can attach to most tools. I use it with a milwaukee portable circular saw and use the hose attachment it came with.Documentation states it can be used for liquids like water. works like a normal shop vac.Construction is really solid. If you buy the tools kit, which is $100, you can attach it to the top and it clips on, keeping all of the tools together. Also hose is stored on top in the hose bin, so storage isn't awkward like other shop vacs that wrap them on the sides. This one holds 26L and has wheels on the bottom. Also has a parking brake to hold it still. Most important detail to me is the noise level. It is one of the quietest shop vacs I have ever used. I live in a condo and have close neighbors. This is quite reasonable at under 70 Db.I think this is worth the price if you do a lot woodwork or if you need a quiet shop vac.

Absolute gem
What a quality machine, quiet, clean, adjustable suction, blue tooth remote, power on demand for your tools, ( that turn on the vac machine automatically when you turn on your power tool)What is not to Like.Very prompt shipping and arrived in perfect condition. So happy, no comparison to the old shop vac I was using.I waited way to long to get one of these.

Overkill for my needs, but so nice to use...
First, Festool is a premium brand, and as such, expectations are usually higher. Suction - is adjustable with a variable speed motor, and with a bleeder vent at the end of the hose. The major reason for wanting lower suction is when you use this in conjunction with a sander (and some other tools) where high suction can actually cause problems. Noise level - I haven't measured it, but it sounds quieter than my old Ridgid shop vac, and my battery operated DeWalt vac. The hose is anti-static which is nice from both a shock issue as well as in not attracting dust to the outside of the hose. The covering on the hose helps to keep it from snagging on the corners of items. I added the blue tooth module, and though hardly necessary, it is nice when your using the attachments. The auto setting to turn on the vac when you start the tool is another nice feature that adds so much to the convenience of this vac. So far, the bag seems to have captured everything that I have sucked up (saw dust, drywall dust, misc. other items) because I'm not seeing anything on the HEPA filter yet. I have not tried using it on any liquids yet, which it is capable of doing after removing the bag.Just be aware that accessories such as the tools and bags, are expensive. (A reusable bag is available, for a multiple cost of regular bags...)

Another great Festool product!
You definitely get what you pay for! Festool make high quality tools, and this is no exception. On our job sites, we can have 2 guys working with hoses run to each station and this will keep full suction going strong. I've been using the same filter bag now for 3 months and it still works great. It's almost time to change the bag because it's getting to be pretty full now. But sawdust, paint sanding & prep, drywall dust .. this thing does it all!

Works great
This vacuum is working perfect in my workshop. It’s Great for dust collection, Comes preassembled for the most part, and like Festools in general You pay for what you get. Be sure to buy the remote on off switch to put on the hose. It makes life so much easier.

Not what i thought it would be..
I like how the CT 26 E was thought out. functions well except the low suction power. Spending nearly $800 for a machine to vacuum and seems like it can barely pull in debris. I like how it turns on using the Bluetooth switch that I added on to the machine. As an example of my disappointment, in my office i have a cat with hair everywhere. I vacuumed up areas on my desk and keyboard, using the attachment and it left tons of hair as if i didn't clean it. I used the 27mm hose it came with and it just needs to be the 36 mm hose. So, after purchasing i have to spend another $200 for the 36 mm hose.

life changing vacuum
This is more than a shop vac! i love the adjustable speed and paired it with the festool bluetooth button kit and attachment box. the vac is quite quiet compared to my rigid. i sought out a hepa vac for lung health. this has a warning not to plug anything over 3.6 amps into it but my kapex pulls 13 amps. kinda confusing if its designed to be hooked to other tools.

Should have bought this years ago
Having used numerous shop vacs over the years and thinking they just help cleaning up the shop after a day of work. I had a hard time justifying the cost of a Festool extractor which I thought did the same. Now having one I totally understand it's not a shop vac, it's a solution to eliminate dust. I'm a true believer in the Festool dust extractors after a month of use, from sawing, routing and especially sanding, no cleanup at the end of the day and my shop has no fine layer of dust everywhere. I'll be adding the separator soon to complete the system. As a side note, the 27mm hose fits perfectly tight on my Bosch sanders.
