Does Brilens offer a gift for a five-star review?Yes. A card is packaged in the box which asks for an honest review and offers a gift for five stars. I was offered an adjustable projector Mnout. I have no need nor desire for an adjustable projector Mnout so it bears ZERO influence on my rating.What's in the package?The projector, AV cable, HDMI cable, an instruction manual and a remote. They are in a Styrofoam casing for safe delivery and the box comes with a handy handle.Usually I don't read instruction manuals but sine this projector doesn't have manual keystone correction I was trying to figure out how to focus it.It may be in the manual or not but I figured out that you can focus the picture by turning the lens so I stopped reading. However, I did notice that the remote pictured in the manual neither looks nor operates like the remote you actually get. Not a big deal. I don't need a manual to figure out how to operate a remote.How does the remote function?Interesting question. The power button is at the top. The next two buttons operate the vertical and horizontal keystone adjustment.. The next two are for forward and backwards, if you're doing some sort of slide presentation. On the next row, the button on the left is a pause button, the one on the right is a source button that let's you switch between USB 1&2, HDMI, and AV inputs. There's a lrge ok button in the middle followedby a menu button on the left and a return button on the right. The last row of buttons adjust the sound up or down or mutes it altogether.The Menu Using the menu you can adjust the settings. The first list of settings are for the picture. You can choose between the familiar modes:Vivid, Standard or Soft, or you can choose User which allows you to adjust Contrast, Brightness, Color saturation and Sharpness, individually and to you liking.Color Temperature gives you individual control over Red, Green and Blue for a warmer picture or cooler. Or you can use the preset Cool, Medium or Warm settings.Aspect ratio adjusts between 4:3, 16:9, Zoom 1, Zoom 2, Just scan, Panorama and Point to Point ratios. Note though that the zoom feature only alters the image size, not the screen size. Screen size is determined by the distance you place the camera from the screen.Reduce display allows you to adjust your screen size down to 75%. That's useful if you have positioned your projector to where the image is too big for your screen.There's an Auto Source option that you can turn on or off. And then there's a feature I've never seen before that displays the temperature of the LED lamp. Mine is currently operating at 52 degrees Celsius.The next list controls the Sound settings. Strangely, this mode is useless to me. i always hook up my projectors to a 5.1 surround sound system. However, with this projector that renders the Sound modes and remote sound functions useless. They have zero effect on my surround system. It doesn't even adjust the volume. Not a major issues for me but something to keep in mind if you use external speakers. Anyway, if you use the projectors built in speakersthere are options to adjust the treble and base, various sound modes include Standard, Music, Movie, Sports, and there is a Surround option for SRSTru Surround or just regular Surround.Another unique mode for a budget projector is the ability option to set the date and time. This also makes it possible to set a time for the projector to come on and go off. There's a sleep timer option and also an Auto sleep function that you can toggle off and on.The final Menus let you Set the language, adjust the keystone, Rotate the image, update via usb and reset to factory settings.Ok, but what about the picture. Is it really 1080p?Yes, yes, yes. Now I'm excited because the previous projector I bought for 10 dollars more claimeto be 1080p but when I set it up at 137 inches, I got the dreaded screen door effect, the picture looked more like 720p.Not only is this definitely native 1080p, but because it doesn't have manual keystone adjustment, it has a better throw distance. Even with the limited dimensions of my room, I can get over 150 inches of gorgeous 1080p from a distance of about 13 feet. I have 2 other 1080p projectors but they are so bulky I could barely get over 130 inches.How does the picture compare to my other 1080p projectors?Glad you asked. i have one that is definitely brighter, but this has about the same brightness as the one that currently costs over $250.00. The colors are bright and vibrant even at 150 inchesI don't recommend using this if you have a lot of ambient light because it will make the picture look washed out. I can still read the writing if I turn on my room lights (two 75 watt bulbs) but the darker the room the better the picture.Fan Noise If the room is silent you can hear the fan but it's not very loud and is unnoticeable when watching a program.I currently have attached, a computer, atv tuner and a Ps4. I use a 3 tier hdmi signal switch so I can switch between devices at the press of a button. Digital channels look amazing. My computer comes through crystal clear. The Ps4 is outputting a 1080p signal at 60hz. Games play smoothly at 60fps. I can watch YouTube and Netflix through the Ps4 apps, as well as other streaming services. As the title says, I'm blown away.Long term reliability.I just picked this up this morning so I can only give an out of the box review.Ok, like every single one of these budget projectors a burn spot develops after three months. Still I will buy this one again because for three months it's the best budget projector when price is factored in. Why pay $300 for a projector that will develop a burn mark in three months. Buying two of these will cost you less and you'll get six months out of it.

Picture quality is ok for a cheap projector but the corners are all soft no matter what I do, my half the price Dr J had a better sharper picture than this. Maybe it's a faulty unit I am unsure, I will contact manufacturer and keep this review updated as I get new info.

Purchased this BRILENS Native 1920X1080P Movie Projector 300” Display to use for our outdoor movies in the summer months. The speaker is okay for indoors in a small room but, once we take it outdoors this summer, we will likely need an external speaker so everyone present can hear well, especially with traffic going by, etc. For this reason, would have loved Bluetooth, but it will just mean extra connections. The picture is really good, even inside on the wall. Once we take it outside, it will project on our outdoor screen, which will make for an even better picture. We're actually quite impressed with the picture quality. This is compact and lightweight. The fan is not overly noisy, much quieter than our previous projector. We have tried this with a Roku stick (movies) and with USB files (family movies). It works great with both and it starts right up with no problem. Overall, we're very happy with this purchase. Great projector for the price.

Not 1080p. The Colors Are Vivid But Not Clear. The Covering Is Made Of Plastic, Which Looks Easy To Break. The Sound Is Good. The Keystone Looks Uneven. ( The Adjustment Knob Is Not Under The Lens Like The Manual Claims Instead You Use The Top Two Arrows Located On The Remote ). It Heats Up Quickly. But If You Can Bypass Those Details I'd Say It's A Good Buy.
