PowerPure 2000 Ultrasonic Mist Humidifier - Permanent Ceramic Filter - LCD Display - Remote Control

Pros:* Needs no filter.* Cleans easily with vinegar... very convenient.* Quiet operation.* Simple, easy use... no complex instructions, like the Lantark humidifier (see my review).* Remote control or easy to depress buttons on front panel.* It's small & light, so easy to carry the tank to the sink to refill.* Cool looking little UFO-type machine... tucks nicely onto the corner of a table & doesn't dominate a countertop.Cons:* $100... but, I hope to get a few years' use out of it. However, this seems to be the price range one must enter into in order to get a silently operating machine.* The tank doesn't hold that much water, so it needs refilling several times/day... it always runs out of water at night, which is when I want it to run. For that reason alone, it is good for elderly people, as it's not heavy & is the reason I'm sending it to my mother to use.4.5* out of 5. Everything's perfect except that due to the small, compact size, it needs refilling often.

great little table top for bedroom...easy clean, fill more water...runs....would have one upgrade to do without the glow of a blue light @night - I have a tea pot cover with hole in top for night use to cover the blue light.

I just purchased this humidifier to use for a mini indoor greenhouse. It seems to work good, but the directions are not very clear, I'm having a problem figuring out if I am setting up all of the settings correctly. I will have to call up the company to find out.

I love this and it works BUT the led light with in the humidifier can not be turned off. This is a problem for me in my bedroom. Beyond that, its a well made machine that puts out great mist.

I received this directly from Allergy Buyers Club as a warranty replacement for my PowerPure 1000 which was discontinued. I've been using for a solid day and here's what I think:1. This is about the size of a basketball. Looks funky, but it takes up more table space than the rectangular shaped 1000 I had.2. Even with ambient room noise, you can hear the blower humming/buzzing if your ear is about 2-3 feet away. I have a $20 humidifier quieter than this! I haven't tried it in the bedroom yet, but to note, the 1000 model I had went back because, at exactly the 1 year warranty mark, the blower started making a loud clickety sound like a playing card on bicycle spokes. A couple solid taps on the base would temporarily fix it. Hopefully, this 2000 doesn't have the same issue later.3. Easy enough to operate even without reading manual, although the manual doesn't tell you much anyway. Like what does the Ion button do? It's not even mentioned in the manual. Traditional ion air filters have to have all the built up dust wiped off the blades periodically, but you can't open up the 2000. So an explanation of how the 2000's ion function works would've been nice.4. You CANNOT turn off the blue light unless you unplug the unit. EVERY other humidifier I've had/have has the blue light come on only when the unit is turned on. Since this light stays on all the time, it's hard to tell if you've turned the unit on or off. The only thing I've noticed is that when it's "on", there is no icon/number showing in any of the 6 little boxes on the display. However, you have to press the on/off button to get the display backlight to come on so that you can read the screen, unless you're in a bright room. If you wear reading glasses, you're probably going to need them to read the little squares.5. Timer function is nice. Sets in 2 hour increments from 2 to 10 hours. I've decided to start using this feature instead of trying to guess "is it on or off?" in #4 above. I'm going to use this in the living room for now, so I'll set the timer to shut off about the time I'll leave or go to bed.Other than that, the unit works, but I don't think I'd recommend it for bedroom/nightstand use due to the blower noise. As far as reliability, I'll have to see if this lasts longer than the 1000 model. Talk about planned obsolescence!
