Second in a unique & wonderful series.
Constable Petra is the entire Greenland Missing Persons Department. This time, a young Greenlandic girl, with speech difficulties, has disappeared. No one, not her family, village, fire department or the high tech military search plane, can find her. Can Petra? Another tale steeped in the people & culture of Greenland brings you to a different world. I can't get enough of these stories.

Christoffer Petersen's Greenland Missing Persons Book 2
Petersen's Book 1 in the series, The Boy with the Narwhal Tooth, sets the stage for the career of Constable Petra Jensen. This novella, The Girl with the Raven's Tongue, develops Petra's character and career with another mystery. A number of characters were in Book 1 and several new characters are introduced. Petersen writes an engaging mystery and gives a beautiful description of the landscape and people of Greenland, the remoteness of the villages, and the harshness of the weather.

Captivating
Christoffer Peterson is a superb writer and this is but one example. There's something amusing about this story of finding a run away child. It's also intriguing in how it makes Greenland real like you're there instead of just reading about it. So buy this book and read it. You won't regret it. But before that read the first book in the Greenland Missing Persons series as this one builds upon what happened in that story. Trust me--you won't regret buying both books.

Another Visit Home
I told my husband recently that I wanted to move to Greenland. Hesaid he would write and even visit me there! He does not understand because he has not read the books and short stories by Christoffer Petersen! It is the peace and oneness with the land. Uncomplicated and satisfying is the balance between peril and pleasure as you see, feel ... exist... in this vast land of Arctic wonders. All this author's writings are AMAZING!

Touching
These stories, like the books, always have me doing deep dives online further into the geography, the people, the modes of transportation, the customs and languages of the north. This particular story is the beginning of something big!

Read this book!
Especially close to my own life: a lifelong Fairbanks, Alaska, resident and a retired speech-language specialist who worked over many years with students who had cleft lip and/or cleft palate, including two summer camps held in Fairbanks for students from small villages in Alaska. As always, a truly enjoyable story! I just wish novellas were not so short!

Beautiful storytelling...
Petra Jensen has just finished a busy night shift in Nuuk - when she is called back into work by Sergeant Duneq, her supervisor.A little girl, 11 year old Iva Sversaq has gone missing in Kanggamuit, a remote and mountainous region on the coast. The search party has been out for two days and only a pair of shoes have been found by a dead raven ...With no time to spare, Petra asks for help from Tuukula, a wise old man and a shaman who she had met on a previous case.On meeting up with Tuukula and his 5 year old daughter Luui, they set off by boat to Kanggamuit to be met by Iva's mother who takes them to her house.Iva , it seemed a lonely child, teased by other children had the ability to understand ravens, rescuing them and leaving them in her father Saaimog's shed...But to Saaimog they are a nuisance...and after an argument Iva has run away ..Petra, Tuukula and Luui set off up the mountains ...but without knowing what is up ahead , will they find the lost child ? After reading The Boy with The Narwhal Tooth , I began this one straight after ..Petra Jensen's journey may be just beginning..but I think she will fly high ..Mystical, Emotive and Gentle storytelling ..Beautiful ..

Culture or Crime?
I am not sure whether or not the Petra Jensen novellas are crime stories with Greenlandic culture woven into the story or the other way around, but they are interesting reading. I love then.
