DEADLINE (A Very British Spy Thriller - The BBC: Highly acclaimed Book 1)

I throughly enjoyed this book. The reason for giving it four stars is because I thought some of the chapters were too far fetched, however, don't let that put you off. I recommend this book.

So fast paced you sometimes wonder where on earth this is going but never a dull moment and somehow the strands all pull together - but not always how you think they will. Dangerfield is complex and not always likeable but that adds to the depth of the book. If there was a book 2 available I would order it!

I've hit page 67 and had to give up. It just doesn't pull me in, its disjointed and doesn't flow particularly well. Far too much padding and irrelevance to the main story. The main character's attempt at humour fails on every level and is sadly just very irritating. Irritation increases the more he tries to be funny - readers are supposed to like the main character, not hate them. There was little to no enjoyment in reading this unfortunately.

Reading worth the buy

A fantastic whirlwind of a novel, fast paced and captivation from the off. Dangerfield is a strong and well written character and helps the plot to flow along beautifully. A must read

Badly written, boring, and not worth the money.

Great to be taken to countries I knew nothing about i.e. China and North Korea. The main character -Dangerfield has rare traits and I grew to really like this new kickarse hero.

fantastic first novel by Jon Gray. Not really being a big spy thriller reader as such I was a little sceptical when a friend recommended it but thoroughly enjoyed every page, edge of my seat one minute and laughing to myself the next! great understated dark humour that catches you in when you least expect it. I would highly recommend this book to anyone, spy fans or not. Looking forward to the next installment. Well done Jon Gray
