I heat with wood and I bought this to remind me when to tend the stove. I have a bad habit of loading the stove and walking away and forgetting to go back and damp it off., which can be dangerous I tried to use a regular kitchen windup timer, but the problem was it would go off when I was somewhere else in the house or outside. With this, I set it and clip it to my shirt or belt loop and no matter where I am, it goes off to remind me I need to tend the stove.I also use it as a kitchen timer and it is excellent for this application as well. When I put something in the oven or leave something to simmer, I set the timer to remind me when it's time to scoot back into the kitchen and prevent something from being overcooked.I like this thing so much I bought a second one in case my first one goes dead and I can use the backup while I search for a battery. So far I have used the first one for a year and a half and the battery has not failed. Great product at a modest price.

Smaller display than I'd expected, makes it hard for me to read. Runs on a watch battery, so will see how long it lasts. The reset functionality requires pressing two buttons simultaneously, and if you don't hit them at the exact same time, does something different than expected (does not reset). Saves some space though, so it small is your goal, and you have the eyes and dexterity to use this, it'll be good. And the clip is nice.

The timer alarm is loud enough for a standard kitchen. The display is a bit small, but still clear to read. The clip could be a little stronger. But still works well. If your moving around a lot in a commercial kitchen, a lot of people and bumping into one another, not a great choice. Just wanted to post a picture, for anyone who didn't read the product specs and was surprised by the size of the timer. Like me.

As professional chef I cook multiple items at a time....with timer clipped to shirt I am free to prep and know I will be alerted when oven item et al needs tending....gave used daily for few months and works perfectly.

I ordered several so I am never without! No more leaving the hose running out side or leaving the kitchen and missing a timer with something in the oven! The timer stays with you!

Resets to 0 every time the screen times out so you have to reset the time. Very annoying

My husband would put a self-rising pizza in the oven, set the kitchen alarm, then wanders away where he couldn't hear the timer. I got tired of yelling to him that the alarm was ringing. He tried carrying the kitchen alarm with him (flat base and magnet back), but would always put it down somewhere and forget it. Of course I could hear the alarm across the house, but not him.I figured I should be able to find something to help. I searched Amazon for a light weight alarm with a clip to attach to his shirt pocket or collar. (Found 2) Voila! Problem solved and he loves it!! Has complemented me several times for this timer.It might not hold up to rough treatment, but as a clip-on it's, light and works well. Highly recommend.
