Poor paper quality
I had this book a year ago and lost it, hence ordering it again. The previous book I had was of the same price range but the quality of the paper was much better and was sheen coated. This one is merely Xeroxed paper and the print is more grey than black.

Will make you a better doctor.
I was introduced to Strub's first edition as a medical student. This book has always contained unique perspectives and clinical pearls I found nowhere else. Medical imaging has expanded almost immeasurably in its sophistication since the first edition; but the aspects of the clinical exam that can be done at the bedside bring insights to diagnosis are timeless and superbly explained in this relatively short text. I'm glad that when my copy was lent out and never was returned, that I found this newest edition and added it to my library to use in my clinical teaching.

Informative
I found this text explained the reasoning behind the mental status exam headings well. It made sense of the whole thing. It helped to explain some of the reasons that people repond to testing the way that they do. It was interesting to see what areas of the brain cause what kinds of answers when assessing mental status.

Good short guide
This is a good short guide to mental status and how to evaluate. I am in a Speech-Language Pathology graduate program that uses this to evaluate stroke, TBI, and other neuro patients. The reminder card in the back of the book is a nice addition, too! I gave it four stars because it is a little disorganized and somewhat tedious to read, but it is a useful book.

Excellent
The description was very modest, rating the condition of this book. It was like new, with only a couple trivial blemishes.

Updated Classic
Recommended by a veteran neurologist, who had used an earlier edition as a neurology resident. He reviewed this edition and found it to be as solid as ever, with updated info on neuropsych and neuroimaging. As a psych resident, I found it extremely useful in that it correlates organic brain insults with neuropsych findings. Well written, concise, well illustrated.
