Love it
I've seen these guys play a few times and they always seem to put on a great performance. They are an amazing band and I finally have a CD from them. If you love Manic Hispanic you're probably gonna love this CD.

One of the Best Spoof Bands There Ever Was
Hilarious! it also sounds good and is well played. Not for the PC folks with no sense of humor. The music is good enough you can keep listening to it even after you know all the jokes. You are greatly missed Gabby.

Changed to 4 stars. I should give it a higher rating just for the cover.
The cover could be the finest take off on a punk album cover ever. Meanwhile, it's the same story for MANIC HISPANIC, great idea to play really tight, change the lyrics of classic punk songs to Chicano humor lyrics and make records and do gigs. This is their 2nd record. 2001. I saw them that year I'm pretty sure. I saw them 3 times earlier in the 2000's and I thought they were one of the best live punk bands, probably the best one doin' shows now. I gotta admit, the HIVES do a great live gig too, also full of energy and bringing their songs totally to life live, just like MANIC HISPANIC. The difference is, MANIC HISPANIC just doesn't make records that bear listening to again, least for me. I've rarely listened to any of their albums more than 1 or 2 times.Update: 03/09 - I've now seen them about 5 or 6 times including just 2 months ago at the House of Blues in Hollywood. Holy smokes that's a great live show. Don't ever miss 'em. Funny banter between songs is half the show. Tight musically man. And suddenly I have a new appreciation for their albums. They're not as stiff or dry as I first thought. Their shows are so incredible that I lost track of how good the albums actually are. Tasty. I keep goin' back to them regretting that I haven't listened to 'em more over the years. Funny stuff on the albums too. This coulda really worked if they'd figured out how to get that great feeling and sound of their live shows onto the albums. But, as it is, I'm real glad of the albums now. Lotta fun, tight musically, smarty pants all the way. [email protected]
