The Strange Adventure of a Broke Mercenary (Light Novel) Vol. 5 Paperback – September 20, 2022

Got to say I've been reading the novels for a while this is the fifth one and they're all pretty good it gets slightly better the main character reminds me a lot of guts from berserk you can tell there's some inspiration there kind of feels like this takes place in the Goblin Slayer universe but I'm pretty sure it doesn't either way I got to say I'm definitely going to be buying more of the novels but can't wait for the manga to come out they should really think about making an audiobook I prefer that more than anything isn't it about to read I can just listen

Oh my, well, I loved it. So much fun, tho’ Mr. Loren really does protest too much that he’s “just a human”. The plot thickens tho’, with the introduction of vampires and their weird ways.We also get to see some more of Lapis’s…darker side…and that’s fun too. Super justified rampages ahead, be sure to buy and support the artists!!!So much fun! I have bought and will keep buying books as long as Mine will write them. Thanks Mine!!!P.S. I looked for New Life + but couldn’t find an English adaptation on Amazon? If there’s an English one out there please do let me know!!!

Loren's absurd adventures continue. This time he is offered the iron rank in the adventurer's guild, but while the test is ongoing, a vampire elder interrupts and hires Loren and Lapis as bodyguards. Obviously, when powerful beings need guards, things go haywire on a big scale. We also learn a thing or two about Loren's past, which is always good.Personally I love the extreme situations Loren finds himself in, really liking his interaction with Lapis and other characters in the world. I do wonder where the enemies keep finding all those human pawns, because by now quiet a few villages have been murdered to the last person around our poor mercenary. As a reader you probably should not think too much about how the world still exist or how unlucky Loren is. Then again, both the vampire and Lapis at least openly place questions at Loren's background and I am curious where things are going.All in all, an enjoyable read, but one that requires a bit of suspension of disbelieve and at times might feel like reading a level 20+ D&D campaign.

Mr Lorem, Ms Lapis and Ms Scena embarks in a new adventure, this time a escorting mission that turns out into something bigger as usual for this party. New characters are introduce, an adventure with plenty of encounters and action, and enemies strong enough to give pause to our heroes. Ms Lapis shines again, one of my favorite characters, with a great personality and charisma, a really cool character with great lines in this volume.

I've really enjoyed this series so far, it's a fun and easy read.

It's nice to see a fantasy light novel without another world premise. It's almost like a homebrew DND campaign and it works well

If you are reading this you more than likely read the other books before. This is a great addition, full of more character development for our main characters. The new additions are a fun twist on the already crazy story of Loren and Lapis, and their adventures.

I probably have used the word excellent a lot with this series mostly cus it's true and I'm not unlike the author that creative. Which the author continues to prove with this series, even having read the WN they've managed to still make it feel fresh. Honestly wondering how they will handle the next volume, hopefully it'll at least match this one in terms of quality of read.

You liked the previous one. Well, this one is great too. Now you can read it and wait for the next opus.
