I've been using the Cheap Shot "precision model" for 17 months with no problems.
Definitely a good laser target. This is my 2nd. Cheap Shot laser target and they are both good, no complaints. I don't turn them off when I'm not practicing, as they don't seem to use any battery power just sitting there. The "precision" model, I use with the crosshair of my red dot pistol sight. This larger one (2 3/8" dia.) is like shooting at an N.R.A. 50' slow fire pistol target and trying to hit the black bullseye, only with this target placed 38' away, not 50'; and I can use with my regular pistol sights. The feedback from the center light coming on when the face of the target is hit is good feedback. An added note, that I was worried about, when you do hit the center light up part of the target it still registers the hit! Stray light will set it off, but when "CONT" mode is switched on (no sound, just the light turning on with a hit, it doesn't seem to be a problem. I do use with the cheap shot laser cartridges. Practice with a handgun is important and this is a good way to stay familiar with your grip, stance, trigger pull, etc. Have a good day!

great indoor fun
lets face it we can't all live at the range and even if we could ammo is still pricey. I have the other which is fun but you're having the hit a target the size of a pencil eraser with this it's more like the 10 ring on a pistol target and for the money you just can't beat it. I have noticed that when I do go to the range now my accuracy is back to when I shot a couple times a week instead of a couple times a month

Pretty Good
Lights up reliably. The on/off switch is behind the back cover that’s a little tricky to remove and replace and feels lightweight and cheap. There’s an aux plug to hook up to a speaker for a gunshot sound that only works intermittently. Overall I’m happy with it, but it might be a little overpriced.

Good target, works well
Works well. Not sure what all the negative reviews are about. This is pretty much a 5 out if 5

Too sensitive, not what I was looking for
I have both of cheapshot's targets, the first style only goes off if you hit the middle of the target, most people wanted something that would go off if you hit the entire target. This version goes off even if you hit near the target, or if your iPhone goes past it or if IR light from a nearby camera flicks on. At first I thought the target was broken, but eventually I just realized it is crazy sensitive.I also prefer the lighting system of the old target to this one, the circle of red lights feel nicer than this new single bright green light. There is a switch to turn it on and set it to auto. In the initial configuration one of them turns it on and the other setting enables audio. If you take the device apart there is a jumper which allows you to change what that switch does a bit. I didn't want audio so I moved the jumper. If you're looking for a target about the size of a small water melon and will be able to place it somewhere that it will not pick up any form of stray IR light, then this might be the target for you.If it had free return shipping on amazon I would have returned it and gotten two of the older style instead. Since it does not i'll keep it for now; it's not what I was hoping for, but it does work well enough.

Requires precision
Worked well, but you have to hit the pinhole. It’d be nice if they made the whole 3 inch circle the target.

Does not have sound. No external speaker included.
The device has an aux audio output port but no speaker. I saw a Q&A answer that said that a speaker was included--there was none for mine. I will try to contact the seller. The light does work with the SIRT Pocket Pistol: 100% of my hits were recognized.I would definitely recommend this one over the "Precision" one--that tiny dot is not very useful for personal defense training at least. Even for target practice, unless you're going for shooting aspirin tablets.
